Iron

OK,

I was perscribed iron supplements a month ago, but stopped taking them after a week because they...well..stopped me up big time.

I should consider taking them again, as my doctor recommended it because he found me to be anemic.

If I do, should I up my dosage of mag to "keep me regular"?

To those of you you had to have take iron pills, what did you to do keep you regular?

Re: Iron

Iron is a tricky supplement. I think you need to take it with food for better absorption. How much mag are you taking now? Do you have any idea why you are anemic? Are you a vegetarian?

Lisa, no I'm not a vegetarian, but I should eat more meat.

Re: Iron

Magnesium would definitely help keep you regular, especially magnesium oxide. I take it specifically for that reason.

I used to be anemic also. I think if I were again i would try the liver powder supplements.

Re: Iron

iron supplements also come in liquid form, like what we used to give our babies. i'm prone to anaemia, too, but darnnit i can't remember which iron is the easier on the system. your pharmacist or health food store should know.
