Vitamin/Herbal supplement for OCD?
For the past 3 years i've been suffering from severe OCD. Ill constanly come up with these little "ideas" and then ill obsess over them for days or sometimes even weeks. Ill keep asking myself "What if this" or "What if that" and even when people reassure me that the thing im worrying about isnt gonna happen or that it isnt true, I still can't get over it. Ill keep trying to convince myself that everything is alright and theres nothing to worrie about but I never can.
Does anyone know any supplements that would help out with this? |

Brain Lock is a good one. "Stop Obsessing - Freeing Yourself From Obsessive Compulsive Behavior" is also quite good.
No vitamin or herbal is going to make the OCD go away, but you could adjust your diet, cut out caffeine, if you drink alcohol, try not to, practice good sleep hygiene, cut down stress wherever possible, practice daily relaxation techniques, exercise - just basically take very, very good care of yourself. |

Re: Vitamin/Herbal supplement for OCD?
There have been studies with Inositol that showed impovement in OCD. Here is one article that discusses it.
http://www.homestead.com/westsuffolk...l_and_OCD.html I suggest researching this and using caution before taking any mega doses of supplements. There used to be someone on this board who was trying this. Maybe do a search to find out. Traditional Chinese medicine recommends a mixture of bupleurum and dong quai to help OCD. This strengthens the spleen and regulates the liver.
