Has anyone tried hypnotherapy?
I'm about to try it... I need some feedback first...
Is it safe to mix this in withdrawal?

Re: Has anyone tried hypnotherapy?
im pleased you are thinking about it and not rushing, the only problem is paul that some peeps benifit from things like accupuncture and otheres it causes worsening of symptoms,we are all so different, its catch 22 it could help,in which case great, but it could make things worse, which would be crap,im lucky im a big wuss and darnt try these things so i don,t really have to make that decision lol, have you put in a search for hypnosis to find old threads and see if any archives shed any light?

I was just going to say that I know squirrel has because I asked about this one time. But I see squirrel is reading this right now and will probably respond.

Re: Has anyone tried hypnotherapy?
Do a search on this site. I did that awhile back and found that not alot of people, none really, said it helped at all. I have to say that accupuncture seems to help alot of people though. If I was going to invest money or time into anything it would be that.

Re: Has anyone tried hypnotherapy?
Hi Paul,
I have had hypnosis.I had it many years ago for a fear of flying and it was brilliant. I have had it recently too and I am feeling better. You need to be completley drug free for it to work.Give it a try it will not harm you. |

Re: Has anyone tried hypnotherapy?
Hi Paul,
I tried it but didn't find it that helpful. However, I was panicking at the time and looking for a "quick fix" so expected to walk away anxiety free which of course didn't happen. I think it can be helpful for relaxation and visualisation but make sure you explain exactly what you're going through right now and be sure you trust the hypnotist completely. Andy

Re: Has anyone tried hypnotherapy?
I tried it when I was completely in withdrawal - it cost a fortune and all it did was agitate me more than I already was.

Re: Has anyone tried hypnotherapy?
My wife was taught "self hypnosis" from her therapist, he would do hypnosis with her and later on taught her how to do it on her own. She claims it really did wonders for her, especially for getting past the Ego and trying to change the negative inner dialogue..or negative thought loops.
Hypnosis is one way, there are also certain types of meditation that Carol Anthony teaches that helps us have access to our inner world and help make changes that way. Dream analysis , is another. You have to decide which is the best course for you. Regards, Johnny |

Re: Has anyone tried hypnotherapy?
Johnny, I think I'm going to wait for the end of this sad episode of my life...
It's not very expensive here so I 'll give it a shot... one day ;
