Remeron Progress

Well tonight I'll be cutting my 15 mg. Remeron to attain a 3/4 dose which will be 11.25 mg. I realize now that this taper will take longer than I first thought it would but I have accepted that as I would rather take it slow to minimize not only the withdrawal now, but also to hopefully minimize the withdrawal after the taper is over. My first attempt to taper from 15 mg. to 11.25 mg. was to big and I suffered for a couple weeks for that. To those who are tapering, please take it slow to avoid these struggles.

I have cold turkeyd off of both Remeron and Paxil, did a way fast taper (doctor recommended pace of course) off of Paxil, and am now doing a slow taper off of Remeron. So eventually I will have experienced it all. Could I put that on a resume?

Somehow I've managed to work full time during all of this as I had no choice finacially. I am looking forward to the day when this is over and want to thank everyone again for their support. Thank God for Paxil Progress and you fine people!

Re: Remeron Progress

Trent, I'm doing a very slow taper myself. It'll be July 2008 before I'm finally free of this poison. But, my goal is to do this with as much discomfort as possible and you know what? As slow as this looks on paper, I'm at 10.6 mgs, down from my original 20 mg dose. I can't believe I'm at the halfway point!

So, throw the calendar out the window, time flies anyway, and you'll be free before you know it!

Re: Remeron Progress

Congratulations Laurie on reaching your halfway point!

I hope that my taper goes smoothly from here on out. My original goal was to be free in six months, that may happen but it looks like it may be closer to nine. At first I was in a hurry, but I now realize going slower is better.

Re: Remeron Progress

Oh, and your so right about time flying. I've been tapering for almost 2 months and it if I hadn't been recording my progress I would have guessed it was maybe 1 month.
