Did you guys see Soprano's

Two shows ago they put AJ on Ads. This week he tried to commit suicide. They show him in the psych ward with a bunch of other teenagers all zombied out. They only have 3 shows left do you think they will figure out its his ads.

This will be interesting....considering the one actress is a spokeperson for AD's.

Re: Did you guys see Soprano's

Ok, well I TiVo'd it, now I know what to expect.

But, considering there's only 3 shows and the focus is truly on Tony, I say this AD angle will be swept under the rug. They'll have to get him on the "right" meds.

Lorraine Bracco is who you're talking about, Laurie. She was on ADs for a while, thought they were great. She's not on them now, but she's a big advocate for them.

Re: Did you guys see Soprano's

aahh yes. I just came on progress to post about it. Thought about posting last week and I swear I was going to say 'I bet he kills himself' after he was put on the SSRI. The writers of the show have the scenario pretty darn well captured. The doc that AJ has is SOOOOOOO dead on cleche' to all the docs I hear about on this site and through my own experiences. He put AJ on Lexapro after about 10 minutes of thier first visit, and it was basically because he broke up with his girlfriend.
The hospital scenes are pretty dead on too as far as what is refered to here in California as a 5150. It is the automatic hospitalization after a suicide attempt if you didnt know. I had 5 of them during the worst of my withdrawal. Prior to Paxil, on paxil, and now after paxil, I can't even fathom suicide. But during the worst of withdrawal, it was all I thought about.

Re: Did you guys see Soprano's

Haven't seen this week yet -- watching finale of Desperate Housewives last night -- but did see the last two. Yeah, my jaw dropped -- Lexapro! I think they'll sweep it under the carpet -- but you never know. Tony was on an AD a couple of seasons ago, too. But I think he just went off them and that was the end of that.

Didn't they put Carla on ADs on "Scrubs" for PPD? Don't know what happened with that one -- missed a few shows -- but this season no mention of it.

Am I better? I would say I am now traumatized by the withdrawal. The depression is constant and deep, but not suicidal. Can sleep, but now always tired.

Re: Did you guys see Soprano's

I was wondering about scrubs as well....

as far as sapranos..it will not be openely discussed about the AD reality..they are just closing the loop on the father son thing..Tony went on AD's becuase he did not want to end up like dad and did and was worried about his sons future...now to close the loop they are showing the show going full circle and tonys worst nightmare come true..his son is as screwed up as Tony is..

Hollywood is so effing predicatable it hurts....

Re: Did you guys see Soprano's

The Scrubs thing is old news now. Carla had PPD, she was put on an AD, now all is well in the world.

As far as the Sopranos, considering what the show is about, I'm sure this AD angle means nothing to them, sadly. It's just part of the story line

Re: Did you guys see Soprano's

This season of Sopranos has been very interesting. Did you see the episode with Junior in the home where he refused his meds because he didn't feel like being a zombie. He was basicallly given no choice but to take them.

3 episodes left....how will it end?

Re: Did you guys see Soprano's

Well, I finally did get to see this episode. And I saw the one about Junior. Interesting med angles. Maybe it will at least have viewers nodding their heads in recognition.

Have to admit, though, if the last several years of the Sopranos had been like this final one I don't think I could have watched it. I'm my current state of withdrawal with the deep depressions and anxiety, watching this show has been almost like a punishment. Thank goodness Entourage is on after it

Re: Did you guys see Soprano's

How could your doc neighbor even think about that. AJ has been in that awful environment for 20 years, it just so happens soon after starting Lexapro he attempts suicide. I wish these docs would wake up.
On another note, I hate to say but I enjoyed last nights episode. My gut tells me the only one left standing will be Tony. I wonder if he will end up spilling his guts to FBI, go off live in the witness protection program. If he does that you have a spin off for a new series. Mobster trying to live like a regular Joe.

Re: Did you guys see Soprano's

When I was in Paxil withdrawal, I went into the hospital 3 times. I was where AJ Soprano was. Last night, his dad literally threw him into a closet on the episode, when AJ was released from the hospital. If my father did that to me, and he killed people for a living, I would kill him.

This is what I predict is going to happen..........Tony is going to survive this horrible thing with the New York family. But I think his son AJ is going to kill Tony, and that's how the show is going to end.
