Is it possibel to notice a change after only 2 weeks tapering

My husband went down only 1mg on the 15th of October, he has suffered minor w/d so far, dizziness being the worst, sinus trouble and some shakiness and not being able to sleep at night which he's had on paxil. The reason for him getting off paxil was due to marital problems because of paxil!!
He seemed to be more himself over the weekend. He had to leave to go off to work for a couple of days yesterday evening. I had to take my mother to the Dr. today and I forgot to mention it to him. So the story goes... He tried calling my cell at about 1:00p.m. today and I had it off because I was in the Dr. office with my mother. He didn't get an answer so he called our home, then called my work where they told him I had called in today but didn't tell him why. He called my daughter and she didn't know that I was going to the doc with mom so when I got to my car I had like 7 missed calls and 2 voice mails and 3 text messages telling me he was worried about me YIPPEEE I know that sounds bad that I think it's great that he was worried but for the last 2 months he never had a care in the world about me or anything around him!!
Could this be working this fast? When I did talk to him, he told me he was afraid I had been in an accident on my way to work or something bad had happened. I told him he was being silly and I was sorry that I hadn't told him I wa going with my mom. He was so relieved that he had gotten ahold of me.
This is the man I have known for 21 years.

it's possible but 1mg down from 20 isn't much.. he still has most of the effects of whatever the drug is doing to him.

Thanks Scott, maybe he was just having a *normal* day for him. It's just that it was so weird because this is the way he used to be before taking the paxil. He worried about things that usually were not something to worry about and he hasn't done that since starting paxil. After being on paxil for about 7 months he became this uncaring person that nobody knew anymore.

Gibby, anything is possible with Paxil but I don't think 1mg would make much of a difference. It's probably that you were always there and when you weren't he began to worry. I wish both of you lots of luck.

Re: Is it possibel to notice a change after only 2 weeks tapering

I think it is possible, although be aware that changes can come and go during withdrawal.

I have found that for me there is a kind of cycle of changes that happens after each drop. After each drop I find changes (mostly withdrawal symptoms) come and go, and then I start to stabilise, then I drop again and go through the whole cycle again.

As far as emotional changes, I have found with each little dose drop a little more emotion is coming back and renewed interest in things I used to enjoy.

I would advise you not to expect that he will be the same every day, these things can come and go, I think you just have to keep an open mind, flow with the changes. I'm having trouble putting this into the right words, I hope you know what I'm trying to say!

I wish the two of you all the best in this journey!

Re: Is it possibel to notice a change after only 2 weeks tapering

Thanks and I understand about not being the same every day. I have learn to live with his moodiness before paxil. After he got on paxil he was the same every day for awhile at first, no worries, always content with things then came the non caring wanting to change things in our lives that was so out of character for him. I can deal with the moodiness as long as I can feel his love and I know now that he has to feel it before I can feel it. This drug really can change a person's personality. Thanks to this site I found that out before it was too late. Because I'm afraid we were headed for the big D and I don't mean Dallas:] it was awful.
