Re: Blurred Vision, dizziness, etc

Sounds like you have a good doctor. You are lucky!
I know you said you feel like crap, but HOW are you feeling? I'm curious how what you feel compares to how I feel.
Today I started out feeling quite a bit better, and was pretty happy about that. About noon, I crashed. Felt rotten. Nauseas, dizzy, upset guts, and just plain icky. That is such a hard blow, when time after time I think I'm over the hump, then whammo. Had to lay down for about 4 hours and had a cry.

Happily on it until it pooped out 2/07
Started cutting down way too fast 7/07
from 20 mg. to 10 mg. and got very sick.
Found PP, went back to 13 mg.
Waited and waited and never stablized.
Began slow wean, down to 7 mg. over a year. Never felt well.
Trashed the paxil at 7 mg. in Aug. '08.

Re: Blurred Vision, dizziness, etc

Well..let me tell you how i feel..i have constant dizziness, nausea and blurred vision. I have started to get the upset stomach today. since last night, i've been feeling anxious.. more like a rollercoaster ride.. one minute im good and happy and the next i feel depressed and worried. I guess that's also part of this whole experience. I do get the fluctuating light fever and chills as well. So all in all it sucks.. even my doc told me that it's too much for someone to go through and function.

Dont get discouraged by your day today.. hang in there.. go slow.. Pray and you will be ok.

Re: Blurred Vision, dizziness, etc

You sound like me. At least you figured out what it was! I thought I had the flu for 2 months before I realized what was happening.
I really have NO idea how anyone can function or hold down a job they have to go to with this going on. I guess some people don't get it this bad. I talked to a phychiatrist simply because people around me kept telling me I needed to go back to the doc, and she thought my reaction was 'unusually severe', but didn't discount it. Ya, right. I think people just don't go back to the doc when they get like this most of the time.
I do pray, all day long. I pray for others like you going through this too.
Do you live alone, or are you married, or what? Can you just take the time you need to do nothing?
I'm married and have a 7 yr. old son. My husband is having to carry the load. It's hard on my son, he is just too young to understand why mommy won't play.

Hi Michele,
You laid in bed for the first 6 months of what? I mean, withdrawal, or after you were totally off? Sorry, I'm a bit unclear, and I'm interested.
If I recall, I think you said once you were off you got sick to your stomach for 6 months.........
Thanks!

Re: Blurred Vision, dizziness, etc

PS: Forgot to mention that I do watch TV with my son, and snuggle him esp. at bedtime. He wants me to come to his soccer game, and stuff like that. I did make it to one a week ago, that was in the evening, that was amazing.

Re: Blurred Vision, dizziness, etc

Oh my, how are you going to work? What type of work do you do?
I work from home, so I've been okay there, and my husband has taken up doing just about everything else I am not up to.

Re: Blurred Vision, dizziness, etc

Just wanted to give everyone an update on where I am. Well, as you might remember, Paxil pooped out on me and the first couple of weeks were horrible. Dizzy, Nauseaus, anxiety, cold sweats etc. I went to my doctor and she has the choice to put me on Lexapro if i feel worse. So I did the every other day thing for a week and went to ever 2 other days for a week. This is all with close contact to my doc. She then asked me if i wanted to go on Lexapro at that point and i said no. These 2 weeks taperin down were hard, but not as hard as the very first 2 weeks when this thing pooped out on me. So i spent a week doing every other 3 days and another week doing every other 4 days. I have not taken any for the last 8 days. I feel alot better than a month and a half ago. I am moody and have a little bit of the dizziness and nausea left. I do also have more than usual level of anxiety. But I'm hanging in there and will beat this drug. Family support helps alot. Reducing stress helps alot. My boss has been awesome, he's let me stay home and telecommute for the last month. That's been a super help.

Anyhow, I know my tapering method is different from what's been recommended by most on this site, but it's working. I could not cut the 12.5CR into halves. I also couldn't take the generic paxil any more. It just didnt work well with me.

I'll post an update later.

Hang in there.. be strong.

Re: Blurred Vision, dizziness, etc

Just wanted to give another update. It's now been 19 days without the paxil. Things are much much better than when i was in poop out phase. I have periods of dizziness and nausea during the day and still have the blurred vision that comes and goes. My mood is better since the last update. Anger is still there, but i think i'm able to control it pretty well. Hightened anxiety is definitely there and i'm trying to control it. I have had a couple of close attacks, but have been able to calm myself down.

All in all, things are slowly moving in the right direction. I know it's going to be a long process to get myself back, but will hang in there and hope you will too.

Cheers for now.
