Anyone had problems with loxamine (generic paxil) - 6 wks in?

Just trying to figure out if this is the flu that I have or something else.

Thanks
Jackie

What kind of symptoms are you having?

If you were going to have a reaction to it, it would have been sooner than 6 weeks out.

Basically like the flu - fever, body aches, chills. The way my back was aching reminded me of when I was weaning off paxil. I'd been quite anxious lately too. But I guess it just is the flu.

Hi Jackster
There are a couple of threads from us 'kiwis' about the switch to Loxamine. Please have a look at those. They may answer your questions.

Re: Anyone had problems with loxamine (generic paxil) - 6 wks in?

It is possibly the loxamine. Apparently it can be absorbed at a different rate, causing different availability in your body. Could be like withdrawal symptoms, your body may be feeling like it is a change in dose (rather than an adverse reaction, which as Laurie said, you are more likely to have felt straight away). The drug takes 6 weeks to reach full effect, so it is possible that it could take 6 weeks to feel the effects of the change-over. I have read that some people need to adjust their dose up or down when changing from Aropax to Loxamine. Personally I have stuck with the Aropax, as I don't want to risk the change while I'm weaning off.

Thanks for all your replies. I'm starting to feel better now, so hopefully it's almost over whatever it was.

Getting the flu during w/d totally sucks. You don't know if it's the sickness, or the w/d. I HATE that!

Glad to hear you're starting to feel better. Either you're getting over the flu, or your body is adjusting to the loxamine!
