A brief update. After tapering down over several months to 5mg, I went off cold turkey from there in early november. I had some really bad withdrawal for about 2 weeks, but things have gotten significantly better since then, and I'm finding that withdrawal is hardly noticeable at this point. Since then, I have also found out that we're pregnant. According to my doctor, the Paxil was out of my system by the time we conceived, so I shouldn't have any fears about its effect on our baby. We're overjoyed, both at becoming parents, and me finally being off this drug (for the first time since my hubby has known me).
Furthermore, my mood has remained fairly stable (other than what I would expect from the hormonal fluctuations of early pregnancy), and I feel GOOD! The adrenal dumps have ended, and the zaps and tingles have gone away. The acupressure anti-nausea wristbands I used to help with the nausea of withdrawal are also working well for morning sickness :-)
I wanted to jump in and give an update since I haven't been in here in a while, and hope that my story can help some others just going off realize that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Mt 19:26 'With God, all things are possible'
Started Paxil 2000 for post partem anxiety
Happily on it until it pooped out 2/07
Started cutting down way too fast 7/07
from 20 mg. to 10 mg. and got very sick.
Found PP, went back to 13 mg.
Waited and waited and never stablized.
Began slow wean, down to 7 mg. over a year. Never felt well.
Trashed the paxil at 7 mg. in Aug. '08.
