Nerve Damage???

ssrireview.com

Do SSRI's Contribute To Nerve Damage?

Never go "cold turkey" off SSRI's. Instead, you should talk to your doctor about slowly decreasing your dosage. Although not recognized as addictive, some SSRI users who have discontinued the medication report withdrawal-like symptoms and even nerve damage when the drug is removed too suddenly.

I wanted to get feedback from members about this article I came across....I have been thinking it might be related to the low back pain I have been experiencing. My pain is located on the spine, lumbar region, not off to the sides on the muscles.

Re: Nerve Damage???

Juan, this is a link to a site that sells supplements. While I'm not discounting anything, especially since aches and pains are very common in w/d. I'd also take, with a grain of salt, what they're saying.

Thanks LC. Makes total sense. I try to shy away from those sites that try to sell someone something

Re: Nerve Damage???

Well, like I said, I'm not discounting what they're saying; but just be aware. We know w/d causes lots of aches and pains, but neuropathy is something different.

Re: Nerve Damage???

I've often wondered if I had nerve damage that is healing slowly throughout w/d. The nerves buzzing vibrating....I've had this since the beginning and it is just now settling down some but not completely gone and gets worse with exercise or exertion.

Hmmm...not sure. I got the old pain the lower back jazz that I never had before. Chronic pain is new to me and it is exhausting.

Re: Nerve Damage???

Hey juan, im right up there with you buddy, with the old chronic back pain, and yeah i really know how exhausting it can be, especially when we have to live with something like this that never seems to go away.

Nerve damage;- well im sure that may play some role in this, but from what i have learnt, its more likely to be from the serotonin in the muscle issues, and particularly as we are very uptight and tense in w/d, this will not make the pain any more bearable either.

But im right there with you and totally understand your concern, the thing is that in w/d we are constantly looking to label our complaints with a name, so that we have an excuse for the ailments we are suffering from, but just sometimes there is no label, other than what it is, lower back pain!!!!!!

Re: Nerve Damage???

Indeed I did not have pain in the back before.
Now it is almost all day long and even during the night...

Re: Nerve Damage???

I definitely had nerve damage, on both my feet. All I was doing was walking so, there was no reason why they would have gone numb (back to normal now, touch wood).

I'm pretty much normal again, minus some social problems I need to work on.
