nerve damage
I've been off Paxil for about 5 mos. and I've never felt worse. I could deal with the immediate intensity of the withdrawals because it was supposed to get better. It hasn't gotten better. I'm in a depression that is totally foreign to me. Its very acute and painful, similar to the mental discomfort of the withdrawal period. My mental stamina is gone along with my libido and any lingering positive feelings I had left in my poor head. I feel totally broken. And I'm so tired of pyschiatrists trying to put me on different medications, and won't take me seriously when I talk about nerve damage. I can't imagine living like this forever. If anyone has gone though something similar and made a complete recovery please let me know. I keep reading about high serotonin levels causing brain damage and I'm starting to feel hopeless.
*A note to those who are still on Paxil - the medication has a tendency to wear off after awhile, this is what initially prompted my departure from Paxil land. I'd advise you to start looking ahead. *If you are concerned about possible long term effects, don't let your doctor put you on another ssri (prozac, zoloft, celexa, etc., etc.) |

i know what u mean but the brain damage caused by ssri's(seratonin syndrome) is short and fatal, and 6 months is way to long for it to be that so you don't have to worry about that. It could be the withdrawl iv heard of it lasting up to over a year especially if you've dropped it cold turkey... did u drop it cold turkey?
