Insurance, missed time from work
My boss knows about my Paxil withdrawal problems. He is all too aware of how much time I've missed from work in the last 2 years because of it. The previous 3 years I worked here, I missed 1 or 2 days. In the last 2 1/2 years, I can't even count how much time I've missed due to being sick with w/d, all of my doctors appointments etc. I know that if we do win against GSK and we get any money at all to reimburse us for prescriptions and doctor visits, we will have to pay back the insurance company for their portions, right?
Well, today my boss said if we win against GSK, who is going to reimburse him for the time I've missed and who is going to reimburse his company because our experience ratings with the insurance company goes up everytime someone uses it excessively. I've had weekly at first and then monthly appointments with my medical doctor and my pdoc, ER visits, monthly prescriptions, EEGs (2, one a regular one, one a 24hour one), EKG, a visit to the nuerologist, blood tests, a CATscan, next week the MRI. Then there are the prescriptions for Paxil each month, the prescriptions for the drugs to fight the withdrawal headaches, the other SSRIs that they tried to replace paxil with the first time I went cold turkey. The higher our experience rating is, the more our premiums go up. The company I work for pays 60% of our insurance premiums. They used to pay 80% until our premiums went up. So basically, not only is GSK causing the people addicted to Paxil money, but also the companies we work for, and in turn everyone I work with has had to pay for it too because their insurance went up. (I refuse to feel guilty if thats what he was trying to make me feel. Its GSK's fault, not mine.) Then when you add in lost or damaged relationships, and the pain & suffering our families went through. I know my boyfriend wants to sue GSK for himself and his daughter for emotional trauma. I think everyone should sue: companies, family members, and insurance companies. I know, I'm ranting... |

Then, just to be silly, what about all the kleenex's I used when I cried all the time during withdrawal. And the clothes I had to buy for the weight gain. And the things I broke by throwing them when I had uncontrollable rage.

You are right!!!
And all the money wasted on Paxil itself And all the money spent on the gym trying to lose weight with no effects!!! And all the time thinking you had a sexual disorder and apologizing for it! Oh my! They really own us a lot of money! Greetings JulieG |
