Has anyone had a blood test of their Testosterone lately?
I recently did this and was surpised to see how low mine was!
In discussions with my doctors, they think, as long as my testosterone is low, there is NO WAY that I will be able to come off of the paxil (currently 5mgs.).
Recently, I have been taken steps and medicines to increase testoerone (through replacement and other meds) and have felt libido and sex drive return. My levels of testosterone (male) have increased from 180 to 1120!
When I look at the side-effects of low testoserone and those of depression, I am amazed to think that perhaps I was misdiagnosed and mistreated. Hindsight...
I would encourage anyone who hasn't had their levels tested to take the simple blood test and evaluate it with their doctor. This might be the root of your difficulty coming off and gaining back that sense of well-being and strength.
Since my levels have been raised, I have had little withdrawal related issues as I have moved from 20 to 5mg., after 7 years of use.
