New to this - need support

Hi all,

Anyone have a story similar to mine (see signature)? My last attempt to withdraw has been so traumatic that sometimes I'm scared I won't recover from its impact, let alone attempt to withdraw again. I think I must be the only person on this site considering going as slowly as 1 mg decrease per 3 months.

I guess mostly I just need reassurance that you DO get back on track after a bad withdrawal experience...................please! I've been back on 20 mg now for about 5 weeks and although I think things are improving I'm still really shaken.

Lotty you don't need to worry about going to slow it took me 3 years to finish my wean. I think you should give yourself more time on the 20 mgs until you are nice and stable for a while before you start weaning again. Remember this isn't a race this is all about quality of life so if you need to go slow then you go slow.

Re: New to this - need support

Thank you so much for your reply I'mokay. As for the wean, I don't care if it takes me 10 years.....as long as I get there. It's just that I feel as if my latest withdrawal experience has taken me to a place that I can't come back from .....so many scary sensations and feelings, some I can't even describe. Shaken me to the core. I'm sure others can relate, and I'm hoping some can tell me that they felt like that too but have regained some normality in their life.

You will be able to get back from it Lotty. As soon as you stabilize on the 20 mgs you will feel much better. Just look at your last attempts to get off of Paxil as learning experiences and move on. Now you know what NOT to do and we can help you do it the right way =)
When I first started weaning I had lots of weird sensations and screwed up thoughts and feelings and I thought I was the only person who had ever felt the way I did then I found this place and learned that I wasn't the only one what a HUGE relief that was!!

This is the way you have to think. You can't go to slow, you CAN go to fast.
