Up my dose for one day????

Hi all,
Im in the grips of WD symptoms and I have a meeting next week that I need to present at. That alone is enough to freak me out but the fact that Im gong through WD sympoms make is almost seem unbearable.

Has anyone just doubled their dose for a day to get through it if they know its going to be extremely stressful? I have a prescription for propranonol but it sort of make my mind go fuzzy so not a big fan of it.

Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you.

That's not the way these meds work - most people find when they up their dose for whatever reason, it takes weeks for them to stabilize again and I don't think you would feel any different after just one extra dose. I would concentrate more on techniques to calm your mind.

I agree with Babs plus stay where you are with your dose until after your meeting. It takes awhile for Paxil to work so it wouldn't help you to up your dose. Good Luck with your meeting.

I ask because in the past (before I started my taper) I used to double my dose before a big presentation and it 'worked' - could have been in my head but it seemed to calm me down.

Interesting ... these meds "work" by changing the structure of your brain and that can take weeks. However I think you can feel the side effects right away so maybe it was a side effect you felt; some people find Paxil stimulating.
