Paxil & Xanax - Your thoughts???

So i was scared. Thought i was literally going to lose my mind. Although another pill was the last thing i wanted to take, i was told by many that Xanax would at least help "take the edge off" my Paxil withdrawal symptoms. Seems to "take the edge off". Don't know if this is the best decision though? Should i really be taking ANOTHER pill? Am i going to have problems with this one too? Anyone out there have any experiences, good or bad, with taking Xanax during the withdrawal period?

Yes, many experiences, very few positive. Xanax has an extremely short half-life and is rapidly addicting, so if taken regularly will soon start to cause the very symptoms it was prescribed to treat. And you wind up w/d'ing from two drugs instead of one.

I have taken Xanax.. and for me it was the drug from Hell.. hence my crossover to Valium where I am not stuck for awhile..

I simply would not take it.. but that is me.

Agreed. One doesn't just get the title "Regina Benzodictius" for no reason.
