Need Help!! - ANY Info About 5HTP, PLEASE...

Hello, My name is Yael. I have been on Paxil for 7 years and and for the last 2 years been taking 10 mg. heard about 5Htp and understood it is a- life saver regarding paxil withdrawal. Anyone knows anything about it? and if it is approved by F.D.A? Can anyone give me info about it or even a link to a site that provides information?
I am from Israel and it is gonn'a be very hard for me to get that medicine if it is not approved by F.D.A.

it isn't approved by the fda because it isn't a medication, it's a natural supplement that no single pharmaceutical company holds the patent to. The fda doesn't make money approving natural supplements so even though it might be better for the consumer, they don't look into it. You can't take 5-htp while on paxil or while tapering it, you have to be off the drug first.

I tried 5 htp and all it did for me was make me feel like crap. Made me really sleepy and gave me a head ache.
