How long was the period between first signs and total poopout?

I was wondering,...how long of time was there between the first signs of your poopout and the total poopout.
So for example,.....paxil (or any other ssri) was "working" and you started to get the same problems for which you took the paxil all these years. Not every day but now and then. And within a certain period you had all the problems again, all day long and had full poopout and the SSRi wasnt working anymore at all.
How long was that period for you?

It's hard to say. My anxiety symptoms seemed to return after only a few months on, then I'd up the dose and be ok for a few more months, then it would come back and I'd go up AGAIN< and maybe get even a year or almost 2 years out of it, and then again I would get anxiety and be upped. THen one day it was INTENSE anxiety, we raised the dose again, and 6 months later another INTENSE anxiety attack (these attacks didn't stop, it was like a 3week straight panic attack), when the 2nd attack came we started to taper. Was it poop out all along? Was it my own anxiety peeking through? I know that the INTENSE anxiety wasn't my own anxiety, it was different and very very strong. If we call the intense anxiety attacks the beginning of poopout, then for me it was 7 months before I knew enough to get off the drug. Or maybe I was in poop out for years if you count the milder anxiety I would have.
The final and last massive anxiety attack did not respond to raising the dose one final time, and at that point I wanted off and started a taper.

Good question. Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Looking back i think that paxil stopped working when my migraines got worse and worse. i got bad head pressure from getting water in my ear for about three weeks then after that the health anxiety started. I never had this before paxil. This was when it def. stopped working for me. June 2009. I never realised any of this until i came here last july and got educated.

@julieannboo: but you never reached full poopout cause you started to ween in july?? (major anxiety/ zapps and other WD symptoms?). Is that correct?

I think that poop out started for me in 2009. But as i said i didnt realise it was poop out until i came here last summer.
No zaps. Just the chronic health anxieties and bad migraines.

Poopout took 3 and a half years for me. I went another year and a half back and forth with doctors trying to figure out my weakness, fatigue, and apathy before I even realized what it was and even then it was months after discontinuing paxil before I could even start to put the pieces together. I'm finally stable enough to be able to look back and realize how deep I was in with paxil and am now still waiting for this to all be over. A little good doctor aknowledgement and a lot of this could have been avoided.

OMG maybe Effexor never really worked well for me at all, and every time I was experiencing so-called "breakthrough" anxiety it was actually poop out all those years...? Guess we'll never know for sure what happened to bring us here.

I'm not really sure to be honest. For me poopout was just the drug starting to cause physcial symptoms and making me just feel bla. My heart rate would never even get moving even if in a situation that would warrant it.

I never expericed anxiety or any of the mental issues until I discontinued paxil.

Maybe not, who knows. I just know that when I was on Effexor, it would relieve my symptoms for a few months, and then I would feel crappy again and the Dr would raise the dose. This went on for 5 years until one day I began having intense anxiety attacks which I had never had before.

It's so hard to say. Maybe there is a difference between tolerance to a med, and "poop out". I was never feeling good for long before my dose would have to get raised. Maybe that was tolerance being built up...and then "poop out" was when the intense panic and anxiety began? Ahhh who knows...

i have essentially been on paxil for good grief like 15-16-17 years..
in from 1997-2008 40 mg

poop out probably started in 2003-04 ish and got really bad in 06

i went to doc after doc because somthing wasnt right with me physically (it was poop out..

i actually had a nose job in 2007 (deviated septum) because i told the doc of my low grade fevers and he said that was causing it..
nice huh..
