Stomach pains
I have been off paroxetine for 3 months. Since then I have experienced (amoungst all the other crap) stomach pain - not cramps but rather burning or aching. I went to the doctor who had a feel of my stomach and said that it was probably gastritis and the lining of my stomach was inflamed. I left it for a week, ate lots of good yogurt and eventually it mostly eased. Now it is back. Bugger.
Anyway is anyone else having this problem as well? Is it common? The problem with being anxious as well as having an unknown ailment is the mind goes crazy and I start to ruminate on all the things this pain could be..... |

Re: Stomach pains
Try to take your med WITH food, regardless of what the label says.
Not sure how much are you taking but it is not easy on the stomach. Granted it could have been a bug, or just some other food. Just try to take your paxil, say with your breakfast or dinner and see if this problem repeats. |

Re: Stomach pains
Did you start taking new med or supplement? I get a weird stomach when I take things w/o food.
Also.... I used to get that in my stomach all the time, found out gluten was the culprit. I read that serotonin has a lot to do with the GI tract, so your GI tract might just be withdrawing yet? |

Re: Stomach pains
I just read this post as I have had stomach cramps but not burning stomach, more like burning higher up.
I saw the suggestion about taking tablet with food. I have always done this until recently. Not sure this is the culprit, but will revert back to taking it with food and see if that helps. I think the idea of yoghurt is good too, so thanks for that also!

Re: Stomach pains
Am on a lactose-free and gluten free diet and things have quietened down a little but that could also be because my anxiety levels are slowly dropping. I guess being anxious a lot can result in an acidy stomach. Damn I so love cream

Re: Stomach pains
I love cream too, but grandma also loves chocolate and I have had my easter chocolate sitting here since April and got to have a little bit for the first time yesterday!
I found the stomach thing is helped by avoiding wrong foods, eating bland stuff and smaller meals. I do miss my cakes and biscuits too!
