Re: Paxil: A Love Hate relationship
Well 5 days since I dropped 15%, some minor knee pain so am testing the waters see how I do it. I am a unique case, am starting to think, I have gained weight since I started tapering ( like 8 pounds) , what the heck???

Re: Paxil: A Love Hate relationship
The last two days were crazy. Went to see my regular doctor, and all my counts are good. Still undetectable which is amazing. Funny though I have not been watching my diet as I used to and my sugar, cholesterol, trygli. are perfect. This is just crazy, but good
Then I saw my psychiatrist and there I had an argument. I mentioned how horrible this pill is and all the physical issues I had since RI and while tapering. He told me that Paxil is a safe drug and the only thing he has seen is "headaches, dizziness and a couple of zaps". And that most of his patients get off in less than 2 weeks. Half one week and dump the other. I was so furious but decided not to even say anything. Anyway mood is good, a minor crying spell the other day. But hear me loud: WD causes parethesia, myalgia, and twitches. I hope these dont last very long after I am done with this wicked pill. ![]() PS: I call my regular doctor and mentioned my conversation with my psych. He said:: "Tell him to enroll in a refresher course !" |

Re: Paxil: A Love Hate relationship
I love your regular Doc! It does make sense that a pdoc as dismissive as yours is probably doesn't get regular honest feedback from his patients. I wouldn't want to tell him about my wd.
What great news all your stats are normal!! At least when this wd hell is over you will be healthy and ready to go! aka Katie

Re: Paxil: A Love Hate relationship
Wow, I guess the 4-8 month period thing must be written in stone.
This past week I have been hit with melancholy, nostalgia and an increase in physical symptoms. I am facing lots of twitches, joint pain, stiffness. I wrote Dr Shipko and he mentioned that he has seen 3 patients like me and that unfortunately there is not treatment he can offer. I love the validation but none the less my symptoms bother me, In addition, this week I have experienced this inner vibration/buzzing that is extremely annoying. So far I have found two things that work temporarily, a percocet ( out of the question) or two benadryl caps. This last for about a few hours. Sleep is good, no DR/DP or anhedonia. No PSSD. Just these damn physical symptoms, specially in my thighs/buttocks that make me feel lousy at times. For now I am stretching and doing mild excercises ( stationary bike and walking). Somebody says ( another forum): "MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level. JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed. It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state" Maybe it is true. The neurologist has prescribed pamelor 10mg for the pain. I just have not started taking it. I mean I had an EMG/NCV that showed neuropathy. But I just dont want to start a new AD even if it is just 10mg and only for pain ( pamelor works > 75mg as an AD). This one I will have to think it over.... |
