How many on SSRI's also had to take stimulants?

After about a year on SSRI's I got tested for ADD and received a script for adderall, and had to take that to experience some "life" for a couple of years before realizing I couldn't be on this mess forever. So how many here had to be put on a stimulant after being put on an SSRI?

Yup. When I had taken it for three years I started getting tired and was prescribed provigil and then vyvanse after that stopped working.

Re: How many on SSRI's also had to take stimulants?

I wouldn't call it "had to take a stimulant" but I was "diagnosed" with ADD shortly after being put on an SSRI because my thoughts were all over the place. So I took that for a while, then was "rediagnosed" with bipolar and took SSRI's and anti-convulsants, than YEARS later, when I still (or again) couldn't think straight, was put on stimulants again.
Once I got off all the drugs (and stopped seeing psychaitrists) I somehow became normal again.

Re: How many on SSRI's also had to take stimulants?

I took Concerta with Effexor for awhile. The ADD symptoms were there prior to ever using SSRI's though. Something I've dealt with from early childhood, they really only made an impact when I graduated college and found myself failing miserably in certain work environments (enough to be fired). The stimulants really helped with focus and slowing down the scattered thinking....but I became tolerant within 6 months and dumped the drug instead of raising the dose. I am hoping my ADD stuff improves after I'm off SSRI's...and now that I'm getting older I know what I can and can't accomplish with ADD and structure my life accordingly. Also I would like to get back to a good diet of "real" food, I felt better back when I ate better (in many ways, but also with the ADD stuff).
