Wonderful study showing that meditation literally alters the brain for the better:

* Paxil 20mg 1997-2004 (for panic, GAD, & OCD)
* Two failed attempts to get off
* Went on Lexapro Jan. 2005 during 2nd Paxil w/d attempt
* Weaned off 1mg xanax w/ 1-month taper of .5 mg klonopin

Currently weaning Lexapro:
Sept.: 17.5 mg
Oct.: 15mg
Nov. 27th: 12.5 mg
Jan. 1st: 10 mg
April: 9mg
June: 8mg
Aug 1st: 7.5 mg
Nov. 1st: 5mg
June 5th: 4mg
Feb. 1st: 2.5mg

thats why I join the local buddhists once in a while. I can feel my brain size increase after sitting all day meditating lol.

2006: switched to Paxil (40mg)
2008: Fast Paxil taper failed, back on effexor (225mg)
2009: stopped effexor cold turkey because I could not afford it, switched to zoloft (100mg)
2010: Zoloft taper failed, switched to celexa (30mg)
October 2011: Tapered celexa in one week

Is there any info on how this meditation technic works? I googled about it, but only found the article on several different websites, nothing else. Seems they are making something of a secret about it.

August 2009: 4 days on Lexapro (10mg)
Quit cold turkey because of severe intestinal pains
W/D symptoms began 14 days later, lasting several months
Phase II 12.2009: Dizziness, derealization/depresonalization, anxiety, headaches
04.2010: Light headaches, unnormal cold fingertips, weird feelings, light dizziness now and then, anxiety, lightheadedness
42 months out: Still having symptoms, but much better than a year ago

Mindfulness meditation has been around for thousands of years (although it wasn't called that until recently). There's hardly anything mysterious or secret about it, and plenty of books, tapes, and classes that teach it.

Adverse reaction to Lexapro led to Paxil, 10 months use, 2005. One month taper.
Benzos (Xanax, then Klonopin), 2-1/2 years use, 2005-2007. 8 month taper.

In the article it kinda sounds like it was something special. So I looked for IMBT, but did not find anything useful.
Mindfulness meditation seems to bring much more interesting results. So thanks for that
