Re: intrusive thoughts

Your having so many problems because you went from 40-0 I six weeks. Unfortunately, no one can tell you how long this will last, or how much worse it will get. Best advice; go back to the last, lowest dose where you were stable, get stable again, and taper as we recommend here.

Re: intrusive thoughts

the last time i felt stable was at 40 mg should i slowly work my way bk to there....the reason i came off was cos i felt it was no longer working but looking bk i think it could have been because i had a lot of missed doses and think they may have caught up with me...... missed about 10 days over a period of a month 5 days in a row at 1 point felt fine then a few weeks later started to feel really bad so decided to come off

Re: intrusive thoughts

If you wanted to reinstate and do a slower taper you could. However if you did go that route, I would try a lower amount first . Why go all the way back to 40 mg if you don't have to. You might feel better at a lower amount, and then you only have to taper from there. Try a small amount first if you decide to go that route. .

But a lot depends on how bad you are feeling, you'll have to decide if you want to reinstate. And how tolerable your symptoms are. If your not too bad, I'd just try and stick it out, especially after being off for 4 mos.

Intrusive thoughts, I've had those before. They were triggered by something everyday that I was dreading. There are some techniques to deal with them. Mine were way before I ever went on Paxil. They did die down over time, especially when my life situation changed.

Try a search on the internet of intrusive thoughts. And they will give lots of suggestions for stopping them/lessening them. Keep trying things. Everyone is different so what works for one, not might work for you.

Re: intrusive thoughts

Are you having suicidal intrusive thoughts? Because that is a another thing. If you are having that type, you need to tell a close family member and go to your doctor and tell them right away.

Re: intrusive thoughts

They go away once you RI and slowly taper. Please read some of my posts on this I wrote in 2011 when I was in the worst thick of it. They are completely gone now. No more thoughts, phobias, or obsessions. They WILL go away. It's just WD.
