vision is wierd

Hi,

After 9 months off Paxil, my vision is wierd. Almost have trouble adapting to changes in light, some slight dizzines but not really, just funky vision. Head is not clear. There are these wierd little splotches of light that are very faint.

Put on Paxil in 1996 for Post-partum depression. After 5th withdrawal attempt, went into severe debilitating withdrawal, restarted Paxil in the ER which didn't work anymore. Taken off again quickly by a shrink, started on Lexapro. Body rejected all drugs except benzos. Currently off all drugs. I'd say I'm recovered. Yeah, I'd say so.

Hi Hope,

My daughter is getting help from a naturopathic doctor for depression.

One of the things that the doctor prescribed is Vitamin A. My daughter was also dizzy and is seeing dark spots in her eyes. She told me that it was for her eyes.

It might be usefull to try it after you do some research on it. Be careful with quantity because this vitamin is not water soluable.

Take care Hope.

Hi Hope, my daughter also complained about this for a long period of time. She has just now seemed to improve in all areas, what she told me is that the spots are like "spots of sunshine", she stopped reading, couldn't focus on her books etc. This has finally just stopped after 9 1/2 months off Paxil.

She was on the paxil for a much shorter time than you were, so hang in there, this will eventually go away.

Take care.

Thanks

thanks for the info. I'm hoping it clears. I was on Paxil for 7 years so it may take a while.

Hi Hope

Sounds a lot like the visuals i was getting particularly in the AM.
I find that i get more of them when i eat a lot of dairy and when i eat a lot of turkey. My personal feeling about my chemical balance is that i probably have too much serotonin. IF it is a stress hormone like darlene mentioned than it goes to follow that being fight or flight for so long...maybe i DO have an excess. I certainly show an excess of estrogen and cortisol.

so while some are intent on increasing their serotonin.....i just try to keep things on a very even keel as far as balanced diet, enough sleep, exercise and of course magnesium, fish oil, probiotic fiber and tons of water.
and avoiding as much stress as possible.

I only get the visuals now when i am really stressed for several days and/or if i have been eating poorly.
