Yes this is part of the withdrawal, my daughter was soaked in sweat, with her it was because she was taken off paxil abrupty. Perhaps you are decreasing to fast?

The side effects are nasty, they do eventually get less and less. You are not whining, the board is here to offer assistance to those withdrawing from the meds.

Sweating, sweating, sweating

I attempted to wean off Paxil for ten months one time, and anywhere below 15mg had me sweating a LOT. I'd wake up in a freezing cold sweat at least three times a week and this went on for months. I had to change the sheets OFTEN!

So YES it's part of the withdrawals. I also had sweating as a side affect from an SSRI drug once - I can't take Celexa because of profuse sweating. It's absolutely, positively connected to seratonin.

Darren, most of us here understand just what you're going through, so don't feel like you're whining. Isn't that why we're all here? We need someone to tell us we're not crazy. This is one of the few places you can go where the people understand just exactly what's going on. Some day you will look back and laugh, but right now it's just not funny!

It is the med. I was and am on Effexor XR for the last 4 years and when I did even the slightest of physical move, I would sweat buckets. Now that I have tapered to 1/3 of the dosage, I thought that this partical side effects would decrease. It hasn't happened sofar. Strangely enough though, I didn't have any sweating on all other meds, including Paxil.

It is definitely no fun in trying to paint a baseboard and ending up with glazed baseboard. Gave up on putting make up on, it's like trying to put it on a waterslide. After a lukewarm shower, I'am ready for another one.

Cutting down coffee and coke seems to help just a little.

Let's hope that it'll go away.
