Don't know what's happening???

After getting pneumonia, I was put on zithromax. I noticed after a few days my heart was pounding and could not sleep period. I also got what I felt like adrenalin rushes that were there all the time. I felt like I was on super doses of coffee or something. I've been off it for 2 weeks and although I don't feel like I'm dying, I'm still having the heart throbs and trouble sleeping. I had been having trouble with pain in my throat and I think I've narrowed it down to some type of acid reflux. It's pretty uncomfortable tonight. Since going through Paxil withdrawal for over a year, then getting the pneumonia and the reaction to the drug, I feel so funky. I still can't breathe too well, am coughing. My doctor hung up on me on Friday. I tried to start work last week and by Friday with no sleep for several days I was about ready to have a nervous breakdown. My boss said I looked pretty tired and I had to admit I was. But when I went home I couldn't sleep. I still can't sleep.

I got hooked on sleeping pills (wasn't abusing them however) when withdrawing from paxil and managed to get off them. I went for about 4 days where I took the sleeping pills (restoril/temazepam) just to function at work. I finally decided I'm not making back to work, not full time. I'm going to see a new doctor. I had anxiety and shaking and all that stuff with the paxil withdrawal. Still have muscle twitches, dizzy spells which I believe are still from the Paxil withdrawal. I haven't been a good sleeper since quitting the Paxil, but this is way crazy. Last night I didn't take any sleeping pills and I managed to sleep some. My stomach kind of burns some too along with my throat. I have a new doctor, but I think something is physically wrong. I did several gallbladder/liver flushes in a row at a natural healing center and the woman running it was way too aggressive on me. I did dump a lot of paxil but I did something to my body. I keep getting the "your having anxiety" and need crazy pills talks from the docs in the urgent care. Although one doc did confirm I was having a bad reaction to the antibiotic. I don't feel right mentally or physically. I think the lack of sleep is doing something wierd to me. I don't want to get hooked on the sleeping pills again. But holy cow how much can a person take??? Today I wanted to roll up in a ball and die because I keep getting sick and the treatments make me just as sick.

I know there is nothing anyone can do. I just feel like talking.

Put on Paxil in 1996 for Post-partum depression. After 5th withdrawal attempt, went into severe debilitating withdrawal, restarted Paxil in the ER which didn't work anymore. Taken off again quickly by a shrink, started on Lexapro. Body rejected all drugs except benzos. Currently off all drugs. I'd say I'm recovered. Yeah, I'd say so.

I can only say: Don't try any new treatmens or detoxing for your withdrawal problems. Rest for a while.

Maybe the antibiotics and all the detox stuff has caused you to have a setback. Nothing is surprising with this nasty stuff.

I did a liver flush too. I had a lot of acid reflux . I tried juiced ginger for a while and it helped to heal my esophogus and stomach, but it increased bile acids so I had to deal with that. There was a lot of inflammation in my ribcage area. I thought I had gallbladder/liver/pancreatitis. Look up symptoms of pancreatitis - it causes heart palpitations. Gallstones can cause heart/chest throbs. Mine has taken a good 6-8 weeks to settle down. The ginger supplements have helped me a lot.

I hope this helps to know that you are not alone. It's probably the Paxil rearing its ugly head again. We are here to listen and offer our support.....
