Went Cold Turkey - Still feel great....(fingers crossed)
Ok, so I got impatient. After feeling just fine dropping down to 12.5mg from 25mg PaxilCR after 3 days, I just threw caution to the winds and stopped taking PaxilCR completely. Today's the third day.
I still feel symptom free, slept fine, and feel great. Mind you, I gotta remember not to leave the tv on while Regis Philbin is on and fall asleep - I had a SCARY dream with Regis in it! *shudder* I don't know why I feel so good. I certainly appreciate it, but I wonder why I don't feel horrid, since I did feel like crap after going from 37.5 to 25mg. I did start taking magnesium, calcium before I dropped to 12.5mg. That could be it. I also stopped all coffee, excess sugar, processed carbs, and tried to eat more salads and good foods. I'm also drinking tonnes of green tea a day - could that be it? In any case, I still feel goooo-oood!!! Crossing my fingers that I'll continue to feel good without any Paxil. I'm stubborn though; even if I get withdrawal symptoms by the end of the week, I'll still just ride it out. I hope it won't come to that! I have something to look forward to though...I'm due to ovulate by the end of the week, so I'm praying I have another little bun in the oven to celebrate. Sandra |

That is awesome, I too ahve often thought of ditching the pills into the toilet and flushing them out of my life forever, but alas, I am a chicken homer to boot...
and as a fellow Canuck...it is that time of year when we tell each other...Spring is almost here, survived another winter, can not wait to get out of this house and into the world again...seeing people actually walking the sidewalks instead of slipping and sliding...spending time talking to neighbors again instead of the hi's and bye's through our shivering teeth....get onto the golf course again...start the gardenenig again....and to putting the snow shovel away from the front door.... |

Well, I haven't flushed the pills...yet. LOL. Thank god I have a drug plan, if I never even crack the seal on the bottle I'm only out $15. It's hard to believe that those 30 little pink pills are worth $75! Anyone got any good ideas about what to do with overpriced pink poison pills? Maybe I should make an xmas ornament or something, a tribute to getting rid of 'em forever.
Are you kidding about winter? There's still half a foot of snow here in Ottawa! Ugh. I hate winter. I want to move to the tropics, but I hate bugs too, . Can't win. It is getting warmer though, but in that nasty everything is dirty and slushy sorta way. I went for a walk on the weekend. It was warm enough, but constant threat of having dirty snow water splashed on me and the baby from passing traffic kinda sucked the fun out of it. At least the sun's out, that's nice....If I see more snow in the forecast I'm gonna scream. On the other hand, a few more plus-zero days and we can all get out our shorts and go for ice cream! Oh I am so glad you are doing good cold turkey!
Good luck on making that baby! I have tonnes of pills - over 300 10mg pills and I don't think I'm going to need that many for my taper process. They only cost me $2.00 it would have been closer to $200 if I didn't have a drug plan.

Thanks jlynn. I feel great, hope it continues.
Homer - LMAO! On the other hand, in the middle of this winter, we had a fruitfly infestation. Turns out they were attracted to the onions in our pantry, so we had to move them to the fridge. My best friend said it was Club Med for the fruitflies, my house became a warm little refuge for the buggers. I'll certainly be cheerier when I seem some green in my backyard though! Bet you look forward to getting out on the golf courses. Heh, I don't exactly play golf, but I do own clubs, does that count? |
