Help
n
I have been off of Paxil for 2 days. I am nauseas, dizzy, am losing my thoughts before my sentence is complete. I have been on it for 3 1/2 years. I knew it was time to come off but I need some support. How long does this last and when will I start feeling better???? |

Re: Help
Sounds like you came off cold turkey?
Is it possible you can go back on and taper down slowly? I know in the past when I had gone off for 4 days I thought I was going to murder someone or myself I was so miserable. Tapering has really made this much easier.

Re: Help
as you will read we all have different stories and different time periods. Welcome to the wonderful world of paxhell withdrawal! You are probably in for a bumpy ride!
I'm 5 months off and feel like crap right now! There are others who are off longer than that that still feel like crap and there are those who have been off it that long and feel great. All depends on how your body reacts! can't be much more help than that....too bad there isn't a timetable but it's just gonna vary from person to person! That's why were are all here though to help those just starting the journey and in the middle of it and at the end of it! welcome aboard!

Re: Help
hi Nancy.
did you just abruptly stop taking it? or did you taper yourself off? IF you just went cold turkey....i would tell you to go back on, stabilize for a while...and then start a nice slow gentle taper down. like no more than 2 mgs drop in dose...every 2 to 4 weeks. If you plan to stick out cold turkey. it can get really really nasty. Not many people can withstand the hell it can bring on. Those symptoms can last like say 4 or 6 weeks....and then long term stuff can last a while longer. months....possibly years. Please read the FAQ for more info on all that and supplements you can and/or should not take while tapering or withdrawing. the best advice....dont try to go cold turkey. Its really rough on your brain. |

Re: Help
Hi there friend!
Take it slow....are you completely off? Are you taking any supplements? I cannot tell you how much those help! If you aren't on magnesium and fish oil...GO TO THE STORE RIGHT NOW AND GET THEM!!! Honestly...they do wonders... The AMA tells us that we need to supplement...while withdrawl, our bodies are extremely weak and going through a tough time...replenish yourself with vitamins and water. Your body will thank you... I'm not completely off, but almost there! Stay positive... and WELCOME! We are very happy to have you....post all you want...we'll listen and understand... Blessings, Kathy
