how long does it take?
I went from 20 to 10 mg by decreasing 2.5 mg per week. No w/d until 10. I've been stuck at 10 for a week and a half with nausea and that spacey feeling. It's nowhere near as bad as when I went cold turkey and then went from 20 to 10, but unpleasant nevertheless. It's gotten slightly better in the past few days, but it's still here.
When am I likely to feel better? Should I do anything other than keep hanging out at 10 mg? Am I likely to have w/d each time I decrease from here on out? |

Re: how long does it take?
You will find that most here will advise a very slow taper from here on in...in fact I have been on 10mg down from 20 for about one month, and other then mild symptoms have felt pretty good.
Others have posted that everytime you go down in dosage you will get some kindof smptoms... My advice is not to hurry this, keep on 10 until you feel strong enough to go to the next level..it has worked for me and in another coulple of weeks I am going down to 5...if I can cut the pills in half without cutting of one of my fingers. We can not get the liquid paxhell up here in the Great White North.. |

Re: how long does it take?
Yes you are right..sorry, but why can we not get it from the pharmaicst in liquid form, heck sometimes just going to the pharma can be a chore, depending on the day that is...
Do you know why we can get it in liqiud form? |

10 mg is a big hurdle for a lot of people. Stay there as long as you need to. It may be another week to 10 days before you stabalize.

Re: how long does it take?
well you all i have read what you have had too say and wow .... i have tryed to stop cold turky also and that is not what i found worked and i am now on 10mg every day from 40mg and when i tryed to do it every other day i started to have w/d and that was not fun at all. So i am thinking that i am going to be on 10mg until i can find a sents of feeling better again. But then i guess i will think about trying 5mg however i can't belive how hard this is to come off.

Re: how long does it take?
my thought is you should go up a little so that the side effects stop.
if your typical drop started out at 2.5, it will decrease as you get off the drug -- so 12.5 to 10 may have been TOO drastic, even though 20 to 17.5 was not. if you have side effects that are hard to handle raise your dose by a little -- then taper slower and slower all the way down. i did that and had no side effects at all. good luck!

Re: how long does it take?
Thanks to all who responded. If the w/d doesn't go away by Saturday I think I will try 11 or 11.5. ::Sigh:: I thought I was doing so well until I got to 10.
