Legallity of it all.
Hi there, so what should I do. I was on paxil for about a year, I discontinued it last summer, july 2004. I had about 20 (30 mg) paxil left, which I continued to take for the next few months (whenever I would feel the need). I was not warned about the side effects, nor was I closely monitored as advised now.
The side effects lasted until December 2004. When I came out of this dark void my life was in a complete mess, I was left with criminal charges (theft assault), and my clean record, down the drain. I realize now I should never have left the house, however at the time it was impossile not to, I needed to go to the local food bank. I arrived there and was pleasent to them gave them my ID and they gave me a bag of groceries, I proceeded to leave. At that second a lady ran over to me and proceeded to grab the groceries from my hand(she said she needed more info from me). Well that was it, I called her a fu**@ Bi*&%, tugged the groceries back then left.... I was picked up 20 minutes later handcuffed thown in the back of a cop car and prossesed at the RCMP office. THis happened in November, in march it got to trial and I was actually convicted, sentencing is on 27 april. I have a week left to appeal and am seriousely thinking about it?? Help this is a horrible part of my life, thanks to paxil. THank you all for reading, for this in itself is therapy. thank you all and god bless. Eddie |

Re: Legallity of it all.
hey eddie and welcome, fellow canuck-chuck! (love the rcmp, eh?)
wow, what a story! sounds outright hellish. It can be pretty hard holding ourselves accountable for our actions when coming off paxhell. what were you like pre-paxil? for what reasons did you begin medication-therapy? why did you decide to stop the meds? how are you feeling at this point (if you could strip away the feelings regarding the criminal charges) how can we help you? have you read (and memorized...teehee) the FAQs? don't want to intimidate you with so many questions but you'll probably get some amazing feedback if you can offer a few more details. all the best, eddie, and god bless you too! ********* suze |

Re: Legallity of it all.
Hi E.R and welcome. I would definately appeal the case. I often have helped handing out food at a local food bank in a church. I have heard many stories about how people are treated at the food bank. I wouldn't let them get away with it.
Good luck.

Re: Legallity of it all.
Hi thanks for replying
lonely. I went to my doctor because I was suicidal, as well as the sexual side affects I felt I welcomed. Im very calm normally( at least I am now, I cant get angry even if I wanted to). Pardon me I never mentioned that the accuser said I pushed her back two inches when she was assaulting me, this is where the assault charge comes in. Ive never hurt a soul in my life nor have i stolen. Sorry got a little side tracked, I stopped taking the meds because I would feel the effects of withdraw even If Im 1 or 2 hours late taking them, I hated it so I stopped. At this point in life Im feeling very optimistic, Going to college in september, starting a new relationship with a beautiful lady by the name of agie, things are well, thank you for asking, thank you for responding Ive read the facts page they all ring true to my experience thank you. Thank you suze for you and this site has already helped me, its hard to get the courts or people in general to belive in you to trust in what you say to be true, Doctors are not ready to commit to yet, to discrediting paxil, to get on the stand and say yes this drug is not only harmful to the individual but to the population, for people do not behave rationally while under the influence of this drug.Thank you again God bless once more. Taking paxil as described above would mean a constant state of withdrawal. Irritability, irrational anger, loss of control, I have experienced all of that in paxhell WD. I would document everything as detailed as possible and present my case. You should not have to pay such a high price for actions that were beyond your control. However, we are never tested beyond what we can handle....and ultimately we have to pay for our mistakes. ~hang in there~ |
