Lactic Acid and Panic Attacks?

Hello to everyone! I am on week six of dropping from 10mg to 5mg and am finally begininning to feel better. Only had one small "wave" of panic yesterday, but it sure beats last week (see thread on "Breathing Issues" at week 5 - several others experienced this during week 5 too.) I'm still going to wait until I've completed eight weeks before dropping to 2.5.

I know there is a connection between Lactic Acid and panic attacks, and was wondering if anyone has any remedies for this. I am feeling well enough to start exercising again, but I know that increased Lactic Acid will induce panic attacks for me. Even getting a massage increases my risk of attacks. Has anyone every used anything to combat this?

Thanks again to everone for all of your support. It is so comforting to know that you're not alone.

Re: Lactic Acid and Panic Attacks?

Glad to hear from you, Lsauvage! Someone else will come along who actually knows about this, but I do recall proper stretching and warming up to be imperative in dealing with lactic acid. Maybe meditating before stretching/warming up would ease the transition?

You mention massage. I've only been given one professional massage in my life, pre-paxil, and boy was it ever an emotional experience!...This is all about our emotions/brain and what this drug has done to them/it, isn't it? Anything that can help ease the emotions back into proper function seems really important. What about sauna-like (sweatlodge) sweats? Do those cause the lactic problems?

Take care, lsau! xox

Re: Lactic Acid and Panic Attacks?

Thanks for your reply. I haven't had the problem with saunas. I love them, but haven't been in one for a while. Good idea!

Wow, I was reading your dated progress at the end of your message. GOOD FOR YOU! Are you beginning to feel any relief from the WD? Take it one day at a time, one hour, even one minute if you have to. I can't wait to say that I am paxil free!
