gross, i know, but this is a real problem!
does anyone else have the problem where they are on a withdrawal and are in the bathroom 10 times a day? i don't think my bowels are ever going to stop moving.

Yes! And that exact same state serves to keep me in my little home, waiting for things to get better.

And they will.

Re: the bathroom.

Yeah, 90% of serotonin resides in our gut and that's the reason why lots of us go running to the washroom when tapering. Drink lots of fluids. (water) It gets better.

Increase your fiber intake, that might help!

Re: the bathroom.

Bananas can help slow you down some. make sure you are keeping your electrolytes up if you are spewing too much. I use Emer-gen-C....like 1 a day....or more if you are really flushing.

increase fiber intake like elisa said.
dont slow yourself down too much tho...or you hold onto toxins and they can reabsorb into the blood and make you feel sick

Re: the bathroom.

I just turned on the computer to see if there was anything related to this - today is my 12th day of no Paxil, like you Catt I went from 50 mg of the Paxil CR to zero which I realize is not a
wise thing to do but I am doing it anyway. I have had the same bathroom problem all day and it started yesterday. This is the first day that I really feel like my nerves are shot. I had a plumber this morning to replace a kitchen faucet that I had picked out. He was only here for about an hour but I just found myself wanting to tell him to shut up - he was trying to visit I guess and be friendly. I really wanted to scream and then after he left I felt like my day was ruined. I felt kind of hysterical and like crying all afternoon so I tried to watch a movie and lay down but still felt so upset. I also feel sick to my stomach. Just sitting here I want to cry. I know all of this just follows along with all of the posts I have read - so I have been expecting something but now that it's here I really hate it. Tomorrow my husband has taken the day off and we are going on like a day trip to a pretty little town a few hours from here. If I feel this bad tomorrow I feel sorry for my husband spending the day with me. I didn't mean to go off the subject of the thread.

Re: the bathroom.

I, too, have been "dropping the brown shrimp off at the pool" MANY times a day!!! My doc knows I want to ride out these withdrawals so has advised me to keep up my fluids (water and gatorade), eat bananas (don't want to lose too much potassium) and increase fiber (I've barely got an appetite so she said I could go ahead and use Metamucil). I've been Paxil free for 8 days and BOY am I having fun !!! I get huge waves of anxiety that cause me to break into some sort of involuntary tap dance (old habit of trying to "burn up" all that adrenaline, I guess)....ya ta ta ta, ya ta ta ta, chaaa!!!!; My BEE-HIND and the toilet have become close friends; I've given birth to enough "shrimp" that I could open a Red, well, Brown Lobster!!! My head zaps are not coming on as often, so that's good.... The only way I'm going to get through this rollercoast ride is to keep a STRONG sense of humor and keep myself busy! We're in this together, kid!

Re: the bathroom.

Great, another "perk" to look forward to. Imodium AD & I became quite a couple during the first few months when I started Paxil. Please tell me this is not a dangerous combination.

Re: the bathroom.

This is very common. One day I have the runs and the next constipated. Oh what a joy paxil is. It's enough to give you a sh!tty out look on life.
