Re: Adverse Drug Reaction Reporting- U.S. and UK

Hi alex

I do feel for you. I think it's possible things will still improve though. I had a couple of girlfriends while I took seroxat but I just had no libido. That was a big part of why they failed-there always seemed to be some drug induced numbness which was a barrier to enjoying intimacy.

I've started to feel different recently. I'm about 18 months off. Now I really crave a physical relationship and I don't feel some strange barrier. I'd like to think one will come along. However the issue for me will be that desire and anxiety all seem so inter-linked - i'm pleased I notice women, but I get a nervous feeling. I think I have regressed to being 14! Not good when yr 40, especially if that proves to be true performance wise.

I hope things can improve for you. I know you're further off the tablets than me but i guess we all heal differently.

Quick anecdote. I was in a bar last night and there were some girls on a hen do (dunno what the term is outside uk). They were a nice bunch and were getting the "hen" to do some light dares. One involved kissing the tallest guy (on cheek) in the bar and it was me! As she did this I Instinctively put my arm on her back and I swear I felt a "rush" from touching her. If that can come back for me after years of apathy I'd hold out hope it will for you too. Ladies - I hope that didn't sound dodgy - all very innocent, honest!

All the best

Si

Spring 2005 - came off tablets quickly. Problems started after 3/4 months
Jan 2006 - back on 20mg
April 2008 - started a 6 month taper
Oct 2008 - free of Seroxat

Now - doing OK, but have anxiety and various withdrawal symptoms. Biggest problems are sweating (affects my work) and tinnitus.

Yeah I have problems with the sexual side of it too Si. Not so much not wanting to have sex or not being able to have sex but not errrm being able to 'seal the deal' as it were. Bizarrely enough my girlfriends always seemed to like that side-effect!

Now I'm down to 8.5mg it's not so much of an issue, because the drug doesn't numb me as much as it did when I was on a higher dose. I certainly have a reduced libido when I'm suffering from bad withdrawal problems though.

I'm sure now you're drug free you should be returning to normal in that sense. Obviously it's natural to feel some 'performance' anxiety with the problems you had in the past, but I'm sure you'll be fine once the moment hits you.

I've resisted making any comments about sheep

All the best.

Jon

Re: Adverse Drug Reaction Reporting- U.S. and UK

Guys

I'm sorry. My post was meant to be a reply to alex c's thread. I somehow posted it here. I have a new-fangled iPhone thingy and I keep messing up!

Saying that - a post I did a couple of days ago seemed to get lost, tho I'm sure I posted it so maybe something weird happens with the iPhone

anyway sorry for any confusion.

Jon - go on, make the sheep jokes. I'll laugh along.

For those outside the uk now even more confused, the English always say the welsh indulge in ahem...intimate relations with our woolly friends. All good fun, but it's kinda a badge of honour now - hence the "1-0 to the sheepshaggers" chant at football games.

Also, It can be also be a bit ironic hearing sheep jokes when you're from a big city and people from places straight out Of Deliverance like Gloucester are saying it to you!

I made my filing on Viibryd, for all the food that it will do. Pharma has the government in their pocket, nothing will ever be done. As a matter of fact, Pharma is pushing for more liberalization of approval. Our so-called tax dollars at work.

Can't do it, it just keeps saying ":check this box if you want to proceed" and points to a random irrelevant check box on the feild. YOu check it, and it happens again and points to another check box. Stupid form. They rigged it so no one can actually use it,lol.

Paxil withdrawal is HORRIBLE! I would like to post my experience, but can't
