eye problems

I've been taking paxil for about a month now, I was 10mg for the first week, 20mg for the second and now 30mg. My eyes are sore and generally strange, and I think it is due to the paxil. It is not really like an allergy thing so I know it is not that, i'm not taking any other medications than paxil either.

Is it possible that paxil could be causing this? I took paxil a few years ago and this did not happen? But I suppose people react differently do medications the second time round, or so i've heard.

Also should mention I had a general eye (vision) check up only a few months ago and there were no problems there.

Re: eye problems

Definitely can be the Paxil. The first few weeks I took it my eyes would be crossed to some degree when I woke up. Now that I think about it, I believe that was the first side effect I actually noticed and had to attribute to Paxil. The rest of the stuff could have been anything at that point in my mind.

Yes, the eyes are affected.

Ok, just as I thought. I wouldn't put anything past paxil to be honest!

first off you shouldn't be on that high of a dose right away.. it will take the drug a few months to reach its full effect and it's said that 20mg is the highest effective dose, anything more is excessive. You haven't been on long enough to give the drug time to do what it does.

Secondly, yes, paxil and ssri's will mess with your vision. When i was on paxil the first time i stopped it beacause it made my vision go out of focus at work all the time and i generally felt like an alien in the flourescent lighting environment.. and all those little stars caused by the meds didn't help any.
