Update- Nicole the Itchy B*tch

this last drop is really killing me, headaches, ITCHING ITCHING ITCHiNG and more ITCHING, I am so crabby and angry. Just feel like I am going to explode and jump right out of my skin. I am getting toward the end now, I am at 5 mg- God please don't let it get any worse!

I'm at work and all I want to do -get the hell out of here, burn the place to the ground, go home and take all my clothes off and just scratch all my skin off!

reason for taking: anxiety
how long taking: 5yrs
attempts to stop: 4th attempt worked!! (first 2 tries w/doctor too fast, 3rd try found this place-5mg drops-still too fast)

briefly went back to ssri's- 12/07 tried Zoloft in desperation//awful side effects starting up, tapered quickly after only 4 weeks on

This is one of the few of the symptoms that I have not had...is it a scratch feeling or the feeling of bugs crawling...and can calomin lotion help as it does for chicken pox?

you are lucky Homer, I've had it since I've been on the paxil but now with tapering it is worse. It just never stops, you scratch and scrath and it starts again, more like bugs crawling.

Oh Nicole, it CAN drive a good woman to drink or whatever!
I called it 'bugs in my blood.' I learned from Norb that it's called "formication" and I think it's the 8th deadly sin myself.
For me, it was such an internal feeling, so what helped me was what I put inside by body--like soothing teas for example. Also breathwork helped--calming my insides.
Another thing that did help me was snitching my husband's lotion that's called Uremol 10. He gets it by prescription but it's available OTC.

sorry if this sounds trite but "imagining peace" also helped me.

Hang in there Nicole! You're doing great!--you're at 5mg. TAH DAHHHH!!

An epsom bath may help.

Re: Update- Nicole the Itchy B*tch

i had it so bad once i covered my legs in caladryl lotion.. too bad it has nothing to do with an irritation on the skin, it's the nerves.

Re: Update- Nicole the Itchy B*tch

So that is why I itch all the damned time?? I've been scratching for years now and wondering why I would itch when I didn't have any known bites or allergies. I thought I just had dry skin so I started putting all kinds of soothing lotions all over my body.

Nicole, you're not alone!! I itch all day and night. Soothing oatmeal baths or epsom salts does help, like Miss B said. Try that.

Re: Update- Nicole the Itchy B*tch

thanks for the responses- yeah this itching is for the dogs. Always had it with Paxil but so much worse now tapering. I took a benadryl yesterday and well it knocked me out last night so at least that was some relief. I'm going to buy some oatmeal stuff or epsom today, because I'm already starting to itch again.
