What's the odds?
.....that my husband will be a normal person again if he ever stops the paxil? Is that same man still there somewhere lurking behind a little blue pill? What do you think he might be feeling if he is taking 12.5 mg of paxil and 0.5 mg of Klonopin each night before he goes to bed?
I'm really pissed off at some people around this little town that I live in right now. People that helped destroy my family. A quack GP and and under-educated counselor(used to be friend). SHE is the one that suggested paxil. I really dislike her right now. The quack GP prescribes it like candy, with no monitoring. I thought it does something to the liver????? Are these people just plain stupid or what? Shouldn't you know what you are giving a patient or a friend?? Shouldn't you do some research when someone's mind is in your hands and care?

Re: What's the odds?
Barbie, All I can say is that paxil turned my son into a person I didn't even recognize. Completely different personality. Now at 16 months off he's himself again, Yes, you do recover from this with lots of time.

Re: What's the odds?
Barbie, I think he will be completely back to normal if he can manage to get off it safely. He´s on a very low dose and if you can convince him he needs to try to get off it slowly I´m sure you will see him get back to normal. Try to inform him about the serious side effects these drugs have and make sure he understands the importance of a very slow tapering schedule. I had to come off too quickly because of bad side effects and although I am now completely back to normal mentally, I have suffered bad physical damage that doesn´t heal and this is probably due to a withdrawing too quickly.

Zoloft later increased to 75 mg. 2004 tapered Zoloft too quickly after sudden onset of muscle stiffness and extreme restlessness on full dose. Severe and prolonged WD problem with a long list of symptoms. Considerable mental but very little physical improvement so far. Last Zoloft dose April 18 2004. |
