Oh, MizzBeeeeee!!!

and anyone else who has knowledge they can share in very simple terms. I've done searches on the board, but don't have the concentration level to decipher the many different posts.

1. What is the difference between Omega-3, Omega-6 and Omega-9?
2. Are one of these three better than the others for withdrawal survival?
3. What brands do you suggest.

I've been on OmegaPure 300 EC. I had thought I was on the 600 and went to buy a new bottle today...$36.00. I will pay that much if I must, but is 300 better for me?

And again, total layman terms for me, please. Eyes are crossing.

Scott, I like Swanson's prices MUCH better than the store that's next door to my girls' dance class. The magnesium was twice the price than through Swanson's. Thanks for hooking me up with them earlier!

Hiya Delyn!!

omega 3 is what we all talk about so much and what is in fishy oil primarily. i forget where i was just reading about corn products being high in omega 6 i think....and throwing off the overall balance of 3, 6, 9. sorry but i dont know how to tell you what the difference is.....only that the depression studies are the effects of omega 3.

I use fish oil from costco. i know others use the Nordic....but that gets really expensive and i gotta save money somewhere. and if the costco fishies seem to work....so be it.

same with magnesium. we get the brand i like...but at the cheapest source we can find.

Re: Oh, MizzBeeeeee!!!

I use the brand from Sam's club. Eight bucks for 300 1000mg tablets. What a deal. That will last over 3 months because I take 3 each day. Don't get sucked into fancy shmancy stuff. But make sure your stock will be in date and potent until you have finished the bottle. I use an omega-3. You can spend three dollars more and not deal with the fishy after taste.
I buy the drugstores brand magnesium.

Re: Oh, MizzBeeeeee!!!

Thanks everyone! I will stick with the Omega-3's and Sam's I can do. $11 I can definitely do. Even the Omega-3's that I got the first time were $16 for 90.

I got the Mag Citrate from Scott's source for $7.49 I think...and it was $15 at the supplement store. I knew you all would come through for me...and in language I could digest. Thanks!

Re: Oh, MizzBeeeeee!!!

DHA in the fish oil (omega 3) seems to be the one that helps the most for mood, so look for a high number on that.

I like Udo's oil blend, and I think you can go to his website to see a good explanation of the 3,6,9 thing. I think a small bottle is about $12, and last me over a month.
