Paxil Protest: Spring, 2006

Plans for the second Paxil Protest, set to take place some time in spring of 2006, are now being readied. If you did not make the first protest this will be your chance to participate.

Details will be posted at the Paxil Protest web site in coming weeks.

A narrative for the first protest is being prepared.

We need both!! Press carry's the information world wide. Turnout makes a local impact and encourages the press to cover it.

How about organizing a Paxil protest in Europe and elsewhere as well??? The BBC (?) has been quite in the forefront regarding media coverage on antidepressants.

Re: Paxil Protest: Spring, 2006

Poor Rob, one more request for an accomodation. I'm not sure I can go but I am hoping with all the traveling my husband is doing we'll have some frequent flier tickets. Would be nice if it happens when the kids get out of school so I can either bring them or use them as babysitters. I've never been to that part of the country and would LOVE to go.

Make sure there are no hurricanes or tornados going on to clog up the news channels. You can control the weather right??

Put on Paxil in 1996 for Post-partum depression. After 5th withdrawal attempt, went into severe debilitating withdrawal, restarted Paxil in the ER which didn't work anymore. Taken off again quickly by a shrink, started on Lexapro. Body rejected all drugs except benzos. Currently off all drugs. Not quite 100% yet, but working towards getting there.

It would have to be when kids are out of school, Skye has missed so much already.... guess if she had to she could bring work with her, but then her main concern is shopping at Hot Topic lol

Re: Paxil Protest: Spring, 2006

Hello Rob,

Edward and I will probably attend. My husband feels as strongly as I do about this issue, so he wants to join me this time around. Of course, this time, he shouldn't be hospitalized and suffering from a staph infection.

I would REALLY like to see greater numbers at this protest. This is something bigger than ourselves. It's why I forced myself to attend the first one. Knowing what I've been through, it pains me to know that this drug is still being marketed to the public.

Re: Paxil Protest: Spring, 2006

I don't think I will be able to go. I'm still in withdrawal and don't think I will have the bucks. Putting a lot of money into my business. I will be sending a donation again this year, it won't be a large one, but every bit counts !!
In case I should get a windfall I will be there with flying colours!!
It would be good for people to see me with the dystonia, I have from Paxil!!!

Wish I had the money and strength to come and show my neurological and muscle damage too , people should really see what this can cause so that they never, ever even think about taking these rat poisons.

Re: Paxil Protest: Spring, 2006

I think we needs to get pics of those who can't attend and put them on posters with exactly what happened to them.

In addition to the posters I'd be thrilled to include these stories and images on the CD. I plan to hae it ready to distribute at the spring protest.
