strain on the nervous system

hio guys just want to share my last few weeks living with a virus that has made me relive the worst of the withdrawal again. After reading about viruses and the impact they have on the nervous system it is no wonder i am reliving the worst of the withdrawal.I know from the link in scottys signature that it says avoid stimulating it as it tries to repair itsself and i honestly think this is spot on.If i stimulate it slightly, maybe a bit of caffine,a chemical smell or even too much noise and light i relive a few symptoms for a few hours or odd days. Now iv had this flu my nervous system feels totally shot at again and all my early symptoms are back full force, which is proof that the more stimulation the more it hinders recovery. The only thing is......how do we avoid flu or virals in withdrawal???????? impossible id say

Re: strain on the nervous system

do what you can to boost the immune system....and also to avoid germs.
so....tons of water, vitamin C, vit E, green tea for antioxidants, echinacea.
and of course the old...wash your hands after everything....disinfect the phone if needed. even wear a mask in places like the market, mall, etc.

sorry you are feeling so crappy jo. i totally agree that stimulating the CNS at all can get you in trouble. over time....i start charging it little by little...you know, as i get stronger and can do that. but then i make sure i have downtime to rest from it also.

Re: strain on the nervous system

Viruses are more or less impossible to avoid and flu season is coming up. I came down with a cold this weekend and it made me feel really awful, as if wd isn´t bad enough. I´ll make sure to stay away from overcrowded public transport etc through the flu season. Don´t want to risk a real flu, it would kill me. Suppose I´ll have to hybonate for nine months from now....

Celexa 20 mg 1997-98. Quit CT, no WD problems.
Paxil/Seroxat 20 mg 2001-2003 then switched to 50 mg Zoloft without any WD problems after the switch. Zoloft later increased to 75 mg.

2004 tapered Zoloft too quickly after sudden onset of muscle stiffness and extreme restlessness on full dose. Severe and prolonged WD problem with a long list of symptoms. Considerable mental but very little physical improvement so far. Last Zoloft dose April 18 2004.

One more note....sugar suppresses the immune system. So we need to stay away from anything with sugar or that turns to sugar.
