CD about withdrawal
This is a letter that I got from Charlie Carpenter. I have gotten to know him quite well in the past year or so since he attends EVERY protest that there is. He's a wonderful, dedicated guy who is doing his part to get the information out about ssri's. He is putting together a CD of stories. I'm posting this here in case anyone would be interested in participating. Totally your choice, just wanted to give you the opportunity.
Hello, I’m Charlie Carpenter and up until a few years ago I believed Prozac and all its cousins were safe and they were given to people for depression. That has all changed since my wife was prescribed Paxil for panic attacks in the fall of 2002. We were not warned about the potential dangers that lay ahead. We had no idea what to watch for and how to handle what was to happen over the course of the next 6 or 7 months. Personality changes, emotional flattening and on and on. I had no idea that without permission I would be unable to speak with the Dr. Permission that once granted could be rescinded. I attended the Protest in Washington DC in August and the Protest in Philly in September. I realized somewhere in the course of events that I could not convey what it had taken me over 2 years to learn in the short time I would be afforded by someone that would stop to ask questions. Vicki and I own a photography studio and were among the first photographers in the US to transition from a paper brochure to a multimedia brochure. We first did this using a menu driven PowerPoint presentation we could bundle with “PowerPoint viewer” to eliminate the requirement for the interested party to own PowerPoint software. Having done this before, I decided to once again use PowerPoint as the platform to build a not for profit informational CD that could be distributed at Protests and other appropriate events. I would like the CD to contain a memorial Photo montage of SSRI / SNRI induced suicide victims that will play to the song “How do you get that lonely” by Blaine Larsen. I plan for the song to have some narration during some of the instrumental portions. I have gotten limited permission from Sony to use the song and I believe they will grant unlimited permission once they see the finished product. I want to display an image of the victim along with their age, State, name of the medication they were given and why it was prescribed. This is not limited to US victims in any way. I also want to include the stories of the suicide victims as well as stories from people that have taken these drugs and had an adverse reaction whether it was withdrawal or behavioral changes induced by the drug. The survivor’s stories can include an image of the person if they wish but it is not required and to protect their privacy a first name only will be fine. In addition to the memorial and the stories I want to include information on but not limited to, Clinical Trials, Withdrawal Symptoms, Definitions, Statistics, FDA conflicts of interest. If you have a loved one you would like to include in the memorial or know someone that does I just need the image and related information. If anyone has any questions input or suggestions please don’t hesitate to contact me at cdvlcarpenter@yahoo.com. I believe this has a chance to be a powerful tool in drawing attention to the truth about the dangers people unknowingly face in the pursuit of profit from an industry that seems to have forgotten the first objective is to do no harm. Again I can put this together by myself but it will be so much better with the combined knowledge and experiences of many. “Never before has an industry with such potential for doing good, so betrayed the public trust” Thank you, Charlie Carpenter

Re: CD about withdrawal
Yup, that's him! When I went to Philly it was Charlie who was the first one sitting in the lobby of the hotel waiting for Rob and Me. He was also in Washington and didn't know any of us.... just showed up. Really nice guy!

I just wanted ti clarify that these will be for anyone that is interested to pass out not just myself. I have no interest in any sort of recognition just spreading the truth.

Re: CD about withdrawal
Just an update, this is starting to take shape and I have (I think) overcome most of the problems I had to overcome to make this a reality. Now it's just putting the information where it goes and waiting for the personal stories and images of suicide victms to come in.

Re: CD about withdrawal
I believe I have a sample of the video where you can see it. I don't yet have enough images but this will give you an idea of what I'm talking about. The next step is to get the Powerpoint presentation on so you can see it as well.

I have just discovered that geocities has a limit on the hourly transfer rate so if you get a page not available just ry again later. Not especially convenient but it's free

I can't wait to hear it. I'm going to try after the Holidays. I'm keeping my self up and have to stay that way because like the song said. I'm going to have a Holly Jolly Christmas. I wish the same for everybody in here.
