Anyone have mornings worse?

I am at the 2.5mgs stage of withdrawal. Have noticed that mornings are awful. I do not feel rested at all, and the mind starts running as soon as I wake up. After I get up and get moving things get a little better, some days.

Also having times of the day when I stuff up. Be like that for a couple of hours and then later I am clear again? Anyone have this happen to them too?

Thanks
Debbie

No morning problems here, but have been sneezing a LOT!! Must be because antidepressants have histamine properties. Gesundheit!!

Yes, my mornings have been pretty bad. I am at the 5 mg stage. I wake up panicky, my heart racing. It's been getting better though.

Re: Anyone have mornings worse?

Yes- my mornings are horrible- I feel so anxious and just in a panic and feel sick to my stomach and sad .

I suffer from anxiety- it's the reason I went on the paxil and they also thought I had some depression at that time because I had been living so long with the anxiety without any help. So before I even started on the paxil my morning were horrible.

I read somewhere where it is common with people with depression to be really bad in the morning. It was in some depression literature. It's the hardest time of day for many.

I'm off paxil now, but my anxiety/depression is back pretty strong right now, and of course I'm real bad in the mornings again. For me I think it's just my anxiety/depression and not the withdrawal, but it could be a little of both.

Re: Anyone have mornings worse?

I suffered real bad morning anxiety whilst in early withdrawal I would wake up and immediately feel panicky, racing thoughts, confused and nervy, I would have to rush to the toilet with diarrhoea (sorry for graphic detail) and I do get it still on occasions but much less intensity and frequency (Funny enough I had it very very slight this morning but just wretching problems and butterflies in the stomach, it passed fairly quickly though), it sure does improve as time goes on, but I undertsnad your frustration right now i truly do.. I'm at a stage at the moment where my anxiety hits hard at nightimes, i'm unable to go to slepp at a resonable time at the moment, i'm trying real hard not to let it get me down like it wants to, but i'm getting stronger and refuse to let this beat me up..

Hang in there !

Re: Anyone have mornings worse?

Mornings are difficult if I allow them to be. First thing I do is put on a pot of coffee, then jump in the shower. Standing under hot, flowing water can be very theraputic. Next I drink a cup of coffee and start my day. I immediately feel better. And.....no more caffine after the second cup.

I think this is an individual thing. For my daughter it was ALWAYS the evenings that were bad.

My blood tests for cortisol showed the reverse.... lower in the morning than in the evening. I feel better in the evening.

I give you guys a LOT of credit that get up and go to work thru withdrawal. I don't think I could do it. Today it would have been NO WAY!

Give yourself a pat on the back or something!

Re: Anyone have mornings worse?

Mornings are bad for me too. I frequently wake up feeling angry and anxious. I never had this kind of anxiety before Paxil. 'Course, I've never been a morning person, even before or during Paxil, but this makes it worse. I used to love sleeping in on weekends but that is so hard to do now. I wake up early anyway, still tired but too restless to go back to sleep. I'm so sick of it.

Re: Anyone have mornings worse?

I think fatigue from restless sleep is going to be a blunt reminder of pre-paxil days for me. Mornings were horrible until tapering to 8 mg. Now I wake much easier. It's been 5 wks since this taper however, and dreaming and restless sleep are beginning. But I won't let myself forget how much work it was to drag out of bed when dosage was higher. And even now anxiety follows consciousness immediately but I try to stay in bed til I calm it, become relaxed thru meditation, prayer, relaxation. It's tricky; if I don't then get vertical immediately, if I linger, I'm easily back to sleep!
I can see that I'm going to have my hands full just changing my daily habits to maintain calm during the rest of the day!

No.... it's the antidepressants that caused the imbalance and my internal body clock to shift.

Re: Anyone have mornings worse?

I will work on withdrawal and Anxiety first. My internal clock is way off too. Just going with the flow. Nights better than Mornings right now, so I am stretching them. I will work on the internal clock thing later after I get off of this stuff or after I feel better.

I was sleeping way to much on the Paxil. Some of that sleepyness would be nice right now, I could sleep thru the Anxiety and withdrawals!

I don't think I am having restless sleep, just not restfull? I am glad that I am not having "nightmares" like some, but just to wake up feeling rested would be nice every now and then.

Nothing is natural after SSRI. Nerve system screwed up, perception and memory screwed up, stomach and intestins in chaos, muscles out of control and endocrine rollercoaster!

Went out for a short walk on my out-of-control legs in the morning and bought a newspaper and what did I find? Headline news: " Drug cures tinnitus!" The article said a drug trial showed that Zoloft cures tinnitus. What they forgot to mention was that when you stop taking the rat poison youŽll get years of tinnitus that you never had before. Wonder what it will be like for those who had it before taking the drug when they stop it.. probably constant screaming in their ears!

Paxil/Seroxat 20 mg 2001-2003 then switched to 50 mg Zoloft without any WD problems after the switch. Zoloft later increased to 75 mg.

2004 tapered Zoloft too quickly after sudden onset of muscle stiffness and extreme restlessness on full dose. Severe and prolonged WD problem with a long list of symptoms. Considerable mental but very little physical improvement so far. Last Zoloft dose April 18 2004.

Re: Anyone have mornings worse?

Been wondering the last few days, hoping you can answer?

I take my pills at night before I go to bed. Does this have anything to do with my mornings being worse? I am at 2.5mgs now and am feeling better, not good, just better. I don't know how this is matabilized(sp)? Do I have more of the paxil in my system in the mornings? If I took my pills in the morning would afternoon be worse? Just a thought!

Thanks
Debbie
