Tingles

I'm feeling these tingling sensations in my hands and sometimes my lips and tongue. It almost feels like pins and needles like when your foot falls asleep...is this withdrawal related? Is it a circulation problem? It's weird

Re: Tingles

I'm about 9 months off of paxil and still have the tingles nearly as bad as in early withdrawal. Mine happen mostly in my shoulder and neck areas.

Re: Tingles

Just curious--do they seem to be concentrated on the right side? So many weird things that have happened like that to me and others have been on the right side.

Re: Tingles

I haven't noticed it on a particular side, but it's possible that it's more concentrated on the right side. It's such a weird feeling, any explanation of what causes it?

Tingling in my right arm some months back. It lasted for a few weeks then disappeared. It hasn't come back since.

Re: Tingles

Mine's all on the left side. Started across my upper left back. When I lay down at night, it's in my left arm. Sometimes I wake up at night and the left side of my back is completely numb. Once or twice, the whole left side of the back of my head felt numb. I agree, it's strange! I've tried to figure this out but I can't decide whether it's muscular or neurological. It appears to be coming from a certain place on my spine - around T6

Re: Tingles

Ok, this is probably withdrawal related, that's good to know. I guess I just have to put up with it - at least it's not nearly as bad as some of the other symptoms!

Re: Tingles

Hi, the fact that you mentioned your lips too.. that could be a breathing issue. have you noticed it when you have anxiety? if you are breathing weird from panic or anxiety, that kind of stuff happens, with your hands and lips.
Something to think about.

Re: Tingles

No, it doesn't happen when I'm anxious, just randomly. It almost feels like a precursor to a zap when it happens on my lip. But the lip is rare, it's mostly my hands.

Re: Tingles

It is mostly withdrawals to Paxil, are you taking your Paxil everyday at the same time? If you are then it's just a side-effect. Many people including myself go thru these tingles.

I've had the tingling sensations quite often. Almost always when I sleep, some body part gets numb. I have also had the numb tongue feeling! Haven't had it recently, but I definitely remember the sensation. This is most certainly withdrawal related. It will pass. All this weird stuff always does.

Re: Tingles

It's called Paresthesias, and yes, it is a common withdrawal symptom. So if you never had it before withdrawal, you can assume it is due to the withdrawal.

Off all drugs for a year going through withdrawal with no letup in symptoms, so in 2004 I (regrettably) went back on Zoloft to try a slower taper.

Mine is my right side mainly too, i'm still experiencing the tingles at 15 Months off, but they are not as bad or frequent as they were in early w/d. I also had the tingly lip on the right side of it only though and the area around it even up to my nose used to tingle as well, it used to scare the hell out of me, i thought i'd had a stroke or something, but fortunately I don't get them in this area a great deal now...

But I am still getting the tingles in the ends of my fingers alot and I quite often get dead arms and legs, especially when I wake up first thing in the morning.

I doubt you are having a stroke. Try not to panic. It felt more like my skin crawling in certain places than "tingling". I had it every day when I was weaning. Since I've been Paxil free, it pretty much subsided. Its more than likely just another withdrawal symptom that will eventually go away.....hopefully

Focus your attention on the here and now. Recognize it for what it is: the one moment of the only life you will ever have that you truly possess. Rare is the individual who has come to completely accept that the past is no more than a memory and the future an assumption about unborn events.

Re: Tingles

I'm glad someone else has reported this symptom. I actually went to my DO (doctor of Osteopathy) who did a lot of tests like shocky tests (hard to describe but would shock different parts of my wrists, and legs that hurt!) and she came up with the diagnosis of Thoracic outlet syndrome. She told me to get a cyrvical pillow and try not to raise my arms above my head too often. The pillow has really helped at night. But this is probably all related to me going off the Remeron and I'll probably have to deal with it for awhile.
