I am Paxil FREE!

Wednesday was my last day of taking Paxil. So far, so good. I've only felt small side effects - nothing too bad (knock on wood!). I am so relieved that this is finally over.

I have mostly lurked here looking for answers to my questions, but I wanted to say thank you for offering your support whenever I posted. It makes the journey so much easier knowing that there are others out there who understand what you are going through. Thank you, thank you, thank you to those who answered my questions and offered advice and best of luck to those of you who are still going through it. Don't give up!

Congratulations on being Paxil free! I hope it continues to go well for you. Be aware that sometimes withdrawal symptoms can show up a while after your last dose .. so don't be too quick to assume it's your original condition coming back if you do start to feel bad. Best of luck.

I too lurked until today but didn't find this place until 5 days into cold turkey...which kind of coincided when it got pretty bad and I needed to find SOMETHING

congratulations on being Paxil free! that calls for a celebration!
i've been Paxil free for 3 weeks now and i'm feeling pretty good! hopefully this will be encouragement for others who are working their way to being Paxil free. going slow was the best way to do this along with taking supplements. it can be done!

congrats to all the paxil frees!

I will be there in a few weeks. on 6mgs, and decreasing 1mg at a time. I have a question though. did any of you ever experience blushing and sweating and if so, did it go away after being completely off!?!?!?!? im trying accupuncture and meeting with a homeopathic person next week. i did have some blushing prior to going on meds, and really really really dont want it to return b/c its stupid and unprofessional. anyone???? help!

There is no substitute for weaning off paxil // this one makes me physically sick Jan 31/06 - the hell with staying on 10 (equivalent to 20 paxil) for 2 - 4 weeks! I moved down to 5 mg (equivalent to 10) Feb 19/06 - cut it in half again....2.5 mg and counting down!

Debbie __________________ Antidepressants since 1997 Zoloft, Serzone, Paxil for 7 years, Effexor for 9 months of that Welburtin & Lexapro mixed in too. Paxil 30mgs July 8 till Aug 6th, 15mgs Aug 7 till Sept 14, 10mgs sept 15 till Nov 14, 5mgs (Oct sinus infection 10 days antibiotics), Nov 15 thru Now, 2.5mgs (Dec sinsus infection 20 days antibiotics) Last Paxil 1/10/06 (Feb Bronchitis & URI 7 days antibiotics and Inhalers) (March Severe Sinus infection 5 weeks antibiotics & diflucan)

(size 6) Spring 2001: Tried to quit cold turkey, failed Spring 2002: Increased Paxil CR 25 mg. Spring 2005: Switched to generic Paxil 20mg. Summer 2005: Tapered to 10mg. January 11, 2006: Tapered to 5mg. Januray 26, 2006: Down to 2.5mg. (size 14) February 4, 2006: PAXIL FREE (after 9 years) February 2007: Lost all my Paxil weight (30 lbs.) Kill fatigue with B Complex.

Congratulations! __________________ Paxilgirl Put on Paxil for situational depression in August 2003. Was also on .5 mg of Clonozapem. Started on 10mg and increased to 30mg. Weaned off during the summer of 2004. Became PAXIL FREE October 4, 2004. Completely recovered!!!

Paxil FREE as of Feb 23 2006!!
