mouth problems?

im curious, does paxil affect the mouth? i had 1 case of oral lichen planus during early withdrawal, and its passed, but i just got a gum sore the other day, and 3 weeks before this i had a white patch with slight pain that lasted about 1 1/2 week. also i have a bad taste in my mouth, and had bad breathe, but my bad breathe has gotten better, just have the taste still....... im going to the dentist next week to get checked out, but would like to know other's experiences with this thanks.

Re: mouth problems?

It's all connected to the "gut" and the entire gut seems to get out of whack from withdrawal.

Re: mouth problems?

I'm speaking more of the natural bacterium that run throughout the gut. The balance gets all screwed up, leaving a lot of people with yeast infections in different areas and other problems associated with that. Also, the efficiency of the intestinal tract and other organs of the body goes downhill in general.

And yes, the burping, bloating, etc...could all be associated with this.

Re: mouth problems?

Remember, the digestive tract starts in the mouth and ends in the toilet, so to speak. Gut problems can occur anywhere in between.

Re: mouth problems?

Each time I've tapered, I've had "gumsores" within the next 10 days.

Re: mouth problems?

I had sores and blisters and bleeding gums. Still get them occasionally but now I mostly have pain in my tongue and a burning sensation inside my mouth.

2004 tapered Zoloft too quickly after sudden onset of muscle stiffness and extreme restlessness on full dose. Severe and prolonged WD problem with a long list of symptoms. Considerable mental but very little physical improvement so far. Last Zoloft dose April 18 2004.

Re: mouth problems?

thanks for the input everyone, well zappelina, im glae that your sores and blisters are remissing......how long have you had pain in your tongue and burning sensation? is it getting better?

im sure that you will continue to get better, keep praying, live by the faith, and take care of yourself, im quickly learning that a good, naturall, clean diet DOES WONDERS!! cut down on the sugars, the alchohol, the caffeiene, etc. and eat salads, fruits, soy, nuts, wheat, etc.

Re: mouth problems?

Gottabestrong, I think your sores will heal too. Of course itīs a good idea to consult the dentist but itīs most likely withdrawal related. Iīve had the burning mouth and tonge pain for two years and no diet cures it. I donīt eat sugar other than the sugar found naturally in fruits, I donīt drink alcohol but I do drink coffee and will continue to do so. It is the only thing that gets my gastrointestinal system working for a while. Do your sores hurt? When I had them I used to rinse my mouth with liquid lidocaine, it numbs the gums. My dentist prescribed it for me and I still use it now and then for the burning.
