St Johns Wort short-term???

I am now 3 months into being paxil FREE, but due to other health and personal family probs and being sleep deprived doesn't help, i'm finding it difficult to cope with sometimes mild depression (lack of sleep throws even little things out of proportion.)
I am considering taking saint johns wort for 2-3 months? has anyone had sucess with using this? and what dosage is required.
I have a feeling that some people are opposed to this drug? is that correct.
your thoughts please, Lynette

From what I understand, SJW acts in the same way that SSRIs do, so it would likely set you back in your recovery. Do a search and see what you come up with.

I believe I read that it inhibits re-uptake of serotonin. I tried taking it several times after Paxil and had a relapse of withdrawal symptoms. Have you tried complex B supplement and fish oil?

true. That surprised me.

I know this is going to sound weird, but if you make it a personal mission to do 1 thing every day that moves your life in the direction you want you will feel successful every day. It can be as small as cleaning out the glove compartment of your car. Then start eating healthy. It will begin working beginning with Day 1. I have come to the conclusion that the best remedy is small steps that gradually give your life a makeover. You can't lose that way. It took me a long time to figure that out... and I'll tell you for free.

SJW is not for people who are experiencing anxiety, it works well for depression. It can set some people back. Have you tried magnesium and fish oil?

I would avoid it due to the reasons posted above. It could really set you back. It affects a lot more than just serotonin.
