got the paxil flu symptoms again

aw man! sick of this i'll tell ya!
i feel like i am going to drop!
the diarrhea.. nausea.. tiredness.

just when you think you are over the hump.. whammo!

i can't even believe there is anything left in there!

just wanted to vent!

will say my mental clarity is good.. bonus because being psychotic and flu like sucks..
so at least i am ahead of the game!

*I* wouldn't expect this to be Paxil-flu at this stage of the game. Considering how bad you have been feeling for the past week, I'd assume that it was a real flu. We've been off about the same time and the only time I've had Paxil-flu or any flu at all was during the first week.

But we're all different. Since there's no way to know for sure, just make sure that you get a lot of fluids and rest! Hope you get to feeling better SOON!

thanks laurie, delyn.. it just seems odd.. i have ibs bad since coming off. my good days are when i am constipated.. the bad.. is when i have the rest of it.. seems to come in waves.. maybe i keep stirring things up? i don't know.. metamucil just kicks it into high gear.
i started taking probiotics tonight in an effort to help my stomach fix itself.
fingers crossed.

Sounds miserable, Sheri. I had IBS for years. That's why I love magnesium. It keeps me regular so I don't experience the extremes. Do you find that magnesium has made a difference?

So far no.. when i take 250 mgs.. nothing, so then i go to 325.. sometimes diarrhea, sometimes nothing.. my stomach has been such a mess!
today.. all i could do was stay close to the bathroom.. plus my hemmorhoids are bad.. almost as bad as when i had surgery for them 8 years ago!
not liking this part of the process at all.. come to think of it.. I don't llike ANY part of this process!

Punkin, Last week you weren't feeling so well either. We were both complaining, I forget what you took but then you felt better. Did you just hold it off a few days longer? There are lots of things going around right now? Probonics may help.

i took a zantac.. which of course led to the constipation.. which ended up making my diarrhea worse.. it's a vicious cycle! i can't stand it.. completely stopped up now.. can't i just have a normal bowel system!!!!!!! AHHHH!

Are you sure the zantac is causing constipation?? I take zantac before another prescription daily because the meds upset my stomach. Zantac does not bother me in any way.

Are you taking the magnesium? So far just the 250 added to my multi vitaman keeps me regular. Yea try the acidophilus it may work for you! Brother is signing new mortgage tomorrow has had runs for a week, ya know that stress thing, told sister in law to go get him some acidophilus just to see if it will work. He took all the pills the Dr gave him already he better do something our father had ulserated colitis more than once.

can't i just have a normal bowel system!!!!!!! AHHHH!

Yea about the time I get a normal sinus system

and that is when withdrawal decides to let us!

i am going to back off for a couple of days and see what happens.
i was so miserable and upset.. i was crying tonight..
i thought i was gonna get past that!

So sorry that it has been a bad day. Backing off may be a good idea. Even though you dont like it I am sure that the crying helps! How about a can of chicken noodle soup? Something easy on the tummy.

How are you feeling today, Sheri? big BIG hugs to ya girl.

Just a thought....are you on any dairy products? I know that lactose intolerance can rear its ugly mug at any time. Even without the intolerance, dairy is a no-no with flu type symptoms. I'd try clear broths, and the brown rice and bananas routine for a few days....see if that helps?

Sorry for this setback.....like you needed it eh?
May it be very very shortlived and you'll be back to feeling your chipper wonderful self soon.

Sorry for you Sheri! This is unfortunately how withdrawal is. The flu and stomach upset comes and goes. You get a bit better now and then and wham! - it hit´s you again. Same with the crying and despair and rebound depression. And whenever you get a normal cold or something it tends to make wd problems worse. Hope you feel better again soon!

sheri, there is a diet I learned from a nurse that can help you get back on track. It's called BRAT. Bananas, rice applesauce, toast. This is used for people who have all kinds of digestive problems and it works! I know from experience because of diverticulitis (lower GI spasms, diarhea). Hope this helps.

Paxil/Seroxat 20 mg 2001-2003 then switched to 50 mg Zoloft without any WD problems after the switch. Zoloft later increased to 75 mg. 2004 tapered Zoloft too quickly after sudden onset of muscle stiffness and extreme restlessness on full dose. Severe and prolonged WD problem with a long list of symptoms. Considerable mental but very little physical improvement so far. Last Zoloft dose April 18 2004.
