Protest prop ideas

I was giving some thought to the upcoming protest.

The television media loves images that have emotional impact or are unique. Here are two suggestions:

First: Styrofoam SM is a light-weight material used for insulation that comes in sheets 2" thick, 2' wide, and 8' long. It also comes in pink or blue (20mg and 60mg respectively!?). Perhaps 6 - 10 sheets could be glued together, and cut-out into the shape of a old-style coffin. "Paxil" could be written on top in vinyl letters, as could the name of the victims of Paxil-induced suicides. The "coffin" could be carried about (SM is quite light) or just laid near the site of the protest with some flowers on top.

Second: Set up a small table with a glass of water and two mock medicine containers. Label one "Paxil" and the other "Rat Poison" or something similar. Put a banner on the table that plays on the Coke - Pepsi rivalry that says, "J.P. Take the Paxil Challenge."

Both would cost very little and would have the type of visual impact that TV journalists love.

Fabulous ideas, Scupper! I especially like the "Pepsi Challenge" concept.

Re: Protest prop ideas

I love the fact that they come in those colours! What do you think about making signs out of the stuff in the shape of a pill, too $$$?? It would have great visual impact for sure. The rat poison idea is cool, I've often thought there is no difference between paxil and poison.
