Send a letter to the National Enquirer
I also sent my story (see journal) to the National Enquirer - letters@nationalenquirer.com. I have not had a response, but I feel that if they receive letters from enough people regarding their experiences with the HORRORS of Paxil/Paxil withdrawal they might take it upon themselves to do their own research and publish an article regarding this. They have literally MILLIONS of readers. This would be a very good way to get the word out! What do ya think?

I'm not sure I want anything related to me inside the Enquirer.

Re: Send a letter to the National Enquirer
The Enquirer would only hurt the awareness building.

Re: Send a letter to the National Enquirer
The Enquirer has millions of readers! Those readers can spread the word! I am a firm believer in EVERYBODY knowing what is happening here! Don't knock a publication that can probably get to more people than any other source we have! Try it!

Re: Send a letter to the National Enquirer
I agree that it has a huge readership - I just don't know how much credibility all of those readers give to that particular publication.
However, this story is very true and I'm certain that a good percentage of the readers are AD victims and it could be a start. |

Re: Send a letter to the National Enquirer
Niether do I....the Enquirer is a rag known only for getting a story through lying if they have to....don't need that publication to hurt the Paxil awareness campain.

Re: Send a letter to the National Enquirer
Totally agreed, Paxilgirl.
Now, I have taken Paxil for 9 years without problems (and when I went cold turkey, the only thing that happened was the return of my OCD) but any kind of medical story in the NE would destroy credibility, which you folks don't need. Let them report on celebrity gossip and fluff stories about children and animals, and leave your stories to the mainstream press. |

Re: Send a letter to the National Enquirer
Although, they have a section called Dr. Erika (I think she also does a column in Shape magazine also) and she is very anti-psych meds and direct in her responses. She often gets questions related to anti-depressants and gives advice to try other non-pill alternatives FIRST.

Re: Send a letter to the National Enquirer
I'm for sending letters to anyone you can think of -- Psychology Today, NY Times, ABC News ... and I guess the National Enquirer can do its bit.

Re: Send a letter to the National Enquirer
I wouldn't insult my intelligence by reading the Inquirer. They might have a lot of readers but I don't think it would help the awareness either.
