On Paxil Again
Hi, I was wondering if there is anyone else out there who has had to take Paxil due to a stressful job. I was on it a few years back due to a bad situation in my workplace, and now moving and relocating to Florida, I find that I am on it again, with a different job. Its just weird because my partner seems to think that I let everything bother me. Anyone else in the same boat?

Re: On Paxil Again
Relocating and a new job would throw almost anyone into anxiety! I personally would find something, anything, else to try before going back to Paxil. This is totally your decision. I take it you didn't have a horrible withdrawal the first time?

Re: On Paxil Again
There wasnt no withdawal the first time, I quit that job and at that point and stopped taking Paxil. It just seems that work stresses me out, and my employer seems to be anything but sympathetic.

Re: On Paxil Again
Sounds like a natural reaction to me, but natural reactions are touted as being mental illnesses too much these days, IMO. Employers aren't known for being sympathetic - they just hire the best ones for the jobs and expect them to be reliable. There is no guarantee that you won't have withdrawal this time, but I know if I hadn't have gone through the horrible cold turkey withdrawal that I went through I probably would have tried it again.
You were lucky the first time and could very well be lucky again. At the same time keep a close watch on yourself because the second time is not always the same. Do what you feel you need to do, keep a close watch on your health and emotional stability, and listen to your brain/body. Good luck whatever you decide! |
