Very dizzy / disorientated

Maybe we should call this site - Kizzie's list of pathetic symptoms.

It helps me to write them down here though so hope no one minds.

So I must be about 6 weeks off medication now. Will check diary later.

All the usual symptoms but today very dizzy/weak/disorientated. Trying to think back to pervious attempts and whether this kicked in at this stage.

I hate blaming everything on withdrwawl. Maybe its the B vits making me dizzy - and when my body gets used to them it will ease off.

Advice from AD expert is to stabilise on low dose (approx same as 5mg paxil), stay on that for at least 2 years then try v slow withdrawal again.

Re: Very dizzy / disorientated

It's worth taking your blood pressure if you can just to rule it out. I had very similar symptoms at that point, and even earlier. There were times when I had to sort of hunch over to walk so I could lower my center of gravity, but I would still walk into walls.

Kizzie you are not blaming withdrawal, what you are experiencing 'are' common withdrawal symptoms, seen here over and over again. My daughter was so dizzy at one point she was unable to walk 10 feet to the washroom.

This will ease up for you.

I couldn't, and still can't touch the B vitamins. They make me feel totally hyper and very dizzy. They could be making things worse for you Kizzie.

Well kizzy

I am about 11 and 1/4 months of at this stage and this week has been hard exactly what you and the other guys have said... very dizzy which is also making me feel nauseous and very disorientated... So I am putting it down to withdrawl.

Yes dizzy, on and off this whole time. Make sure you're well hydrated. Sometimes being dehydrated can contribute to this as well. Try to not take the B-vitamins for a day or two and see if the dizziness eases up.

Put on Paxil in 1996 for Post-partum depression. After 5th withdrawal attempt, went into severe debilitating withdrawal, restarted Paxil in the ER which didn't work anymore. Taken off again quickly by a shrink, started on Lexapro. Body rejected all drugs except benzos. Currently off all drugs. Not quite 100% yet, but working towards getting there.

Re: Very dizzy / disorientated

Thanks everyone

Ive just checked my diary and its 6 weeks exactly since my last dose of clomipramine. (11 weeks since I took the equivalent of 1mg of paxil)

I think id built up in my mind that the ONLY way I could better without meds was to take all the fish oil/supplements/ b vits so was really trying to stick it out with them. But I know Sarah and Hope - you both have done it different ways.

Tomorrow Im going to switch the multivit/min with the high doses of B's for one which just has standard low doses. At least then Im doing 'something' but not risking 'frying' my brain even more.

And Ive got to tell myself that even though I might have done something thats made me edgy - its not the end of the world/ the effect will wear off / and I havent caused irrepairable damage

Re: Very dizzy / disorientated

Kizzie, it's okay to blame everything on withdrawal. I mean, were you ever dizzy and disoriented prior to these awful drugs? I know I wasn't. But I sure am now. You're still in early stages, so don't get spooked. What you're experiencing is very common.

Off all drugs for a year going through withdrawal with no letup in symptoms, so in 2004 I (regrettably) went back on Zoloft to try a slower taper.
11/19/05 - Finally off again.
